After I was saved from the kidnappers, mom and dad did everything to protect me, and that includes hiding me, keeping me inside the walls of this house.
I used to enjoy here the twilight beauty, stargazing after dinner, and running to catch the sunrise every morning. But when I was taken away by men who were able to escape after I was rescued by my parents and the police, they closed the door of this place and told me to stay in my room where I won't be exposed to people's eye.
Napahawak ako sa barandilya ng teresa. "This is beautiful."
"It is, indeed." Hinalikan ako ni mama sa noo. "Iiwan na kita. Enjoy the view, Ylona. Inaantok na ako."
Nginitian ko siya. "Sure, Mama. Thank you dahil tinanggal n'yo na ang lock niya. I've been wanting so bad to watch the city outside."
"Anything for you, my princess.
Good night, Ma."
"Good night."
As a student, I need to do this.
I looked around. I love watching how the city shines so lovely. It is alive and busy. I love the view of the billboards, the buildings, the sound of the trains as well as the crowded railroads.
This terrace is my favorite spot every night. I love watching the place with a coffee in my hand as I dream about the things that I've never seen in reality. It was really my usual routine until the day I was kidnapped. It hurt to see its open door shuts in front of me.
I was banned to go outside the gates of this house without my parents. I took the rest of my school years inside my personal study room. I wasn't able to experience everything that the other teen-agers are doing: shopping, watching cinemas, attending concerts, parties, sleep overs, and even going to amusement parks which I'm really fond of.
My father is holding a hardware enterprise. And my mom, on the other hand, is a restaurant manager. Paminsan-minsan lang sila naglalaan ng time for family outing, pero naiintindihan ko naman sila. After all, may oras pa rin naman sila sa akin.
