It was 12:50 and I was waiting for Ronnie to pick me up. I had chosen a black short-ish skirt, an MCR shirt, and black converse to wear. I mean we’re just going to lunch, right? About 5 minutes later I heard a knock on the door. Trying to keep my cool, I casually got up and answered the door. When I opened the door I saw Ronnie wearing black skinnies ripped at the knee and a Misfits t-shirt.

He smiled, “You look beautiful.”

I felt myself blush as I said, “You look pretty good yourself.”

I turned back and yelled, “Andy, I’m leaving!”

“Have fun.” Came the response.

“Okay. Let’s go.” I grabbed the set of house keys Andy gave me last night and closed the front door behind me.

Ronnie and I walked to his car and he opened the door for me. I got in and we started driving.

“Where are we going?”

“Ah. Now that is a secret.” He smiled mischievously.

“Come on. Tell me, please?”

“Nope.”

I sat back in my seat and looked out the window. I had never lived in Los Angeles before so I didn’t know where we were going. But soon enough Ronnie pulled onto a dirt path and I looked at him with a confused look on my face. He just smiled I motioned out my window. I looked to my right and saw the most beautiful lake in existence. I smiled and looked at Ronnie. We parked beneath a tree and Ronnie pulled out a picnic basket from the backseat. He pulled a blanket from the basket and laid it down on the ground.

“So, you like it?” he asked.

“Ronnie, it’s beautiful.”

“Thanks. Shall we eat?”

“Yeah.”

We sat down to eat and watched the people on the lake. Ronnie made sandwiches and brought chips and water. We talked about a lot of things but mostly we just got to know each other. He told me about what landed him in jail and I told him about my ‘father.’ It seemed like I was telling everyone about my past.  When Ronnie was talking about what it was like in prison he seemed to be conflicted with emotion. He was probably angry at Max, Robert, and Monte for kicking him out at a time when he needed his friends, but also grateful because if they hadn’t Falling in Reverse would never have been formed.

After we had finished eating we laid down on the blanket and watched the clouds for a while. I was lying next to Ronnie with my arm wrapped around his stomach, while his arm snaked its way around my waist. My head was on his shoulder and every so often he would whisper something in my ear and kiss my hair. The more I thought about it, the more I felt something was off. I couldn’t quite put my finger on it so I decided to just forget about it and enjoy the moment.

After about an hour Ronnie drove me home. He pulled in front of Andy’s house and he walked me to the front door. I turned to face him and said, “Ronnie today was perfect. Thank you so much.”

And then I leaned up and kissed him. It was meant to be a short kiss but I got caught up in the moment and wrapped my arms around his neck. He grabbed my waist and pulled me into him. I felt his tongue glide over my bottom lip but I decided to deny him access for the time being. He impatiently bit my lip and I opened my mouth long enough for him to slip is tongue inside. I smiled against his mouth and deepened the kiss, tangling my hands in his hair. I would’ve liked to have kept kissing Ronnie, but I had to come up for air. I pulled away and looked at him.

“Well if that’s what I get when I take you out, I should take you out more often.” He said.

I laughed and grabbed my keys to unlock the door.
