I rounded the corner into the kitchen and before me stood possibly one of the most beautiful women I had ever seen. Everything about her seemed perfect and I couldn’t help the tears that ran down my cheeks.

“Hi.” I squeaked.

“Olivia,” it felt so good just to hear her say my name, “you’re even more beautiful than I imagined. And I used to think you couldn’t get any more perfect from the day you were born.”

She held out her arms to me and said softly, “Come here.”

I was so shocked that I didn’t register what she said, not until I felt CC push me from behind towards me mother. I walked into her outstretched arms and started sobbing uncontrollably, not able to control the unshed tears of all the times my ‘father’ beat me. My mother held me, stroking my back softly, whispering in my ear, “It’s all going to be alright. Nothing can hurt you now. You’re safe.”

I looked up at her, “You have no idea how happy I am right now. I’ve waited for this day since I met Andy that night at the concert.”

“Andy? Are you crying?” I heard Jake say from behind me.

“So what if I am? You got a problem?” he hissed.

I looked at Andy, and sure enough, the rims of his eyes were red. I let go of my mother and went up to Andy.

I looked him in the eyes and said, “Andy, I want you to know that none of this would’ve ever happened if you had just tossed me to the side like a crazy fan. All of this, my happiness, it’s all because of you. And I am forever grateful.”

He smiled at me and gave me a hug, “Okay. I think we’ve done enough crying for one day. Olivia, why don’t you go wash up while we all get dinner finished.”

Andy showed me the bathroom was, and I went to the bathroom to fix my makeup, which I’m sure had smeared during my chick-flick moment. When I got to the bathroom I took off that which had smeared and began to reapply. As I was doing so Andy came in a sat on the counter next to me.

“So, what do you think of her?”

“Andy, she’s amazing. She’s everything I’d hoped she’d be and more. I can’t thank you enough for helping me get to her.”

“Please, I don’t need any more ‘thank yous.’  I’m just glad you found me or else I wouldn’t have such an amazing baby sister.”

I blushed and looked down.

“I’m not really your ‘baby’ sister, Andy. I’m only two years younger than you.”

You’ll always be my baby sister, Olivia. Forever and always.” He kissed me on the forehead and left.

I smiled and finished reapplying my eyeliner. I walked back down to the kitchen and helped finish dinner, which was very good.

During dinner, my mom kept asking me things about myself and we chatted for a while. Then towards the end she asked me about where I had been before I met Andy.

“If you don’t mind, I’d rather wait to talk about that with you, Andy, and D…Dad alone.”

“Of course. We can talk before you leave for Andy’s place.”

“Alright.”

We finished the rest of dinner and the guys went to watch TV while Andy, my mother and father, and I went to the dining room table to talk.

“So, I haven’t told Andy this because I was hoping I would tell him when we were all together.”

My parents just nodded and I continued.
