LA models called me and confirmed the details about the shoots for Phoenix. $5,000 for a handful of days. I would have done the work for free, but another paycheck added to the mix made the gig sound even better. A spread in both Details and Nylon, along with ads in all of the major fashion magazines, and I would model the entire line for the online store as well as possible prints used in the boutique opening up in March.

I continued coaching with Karen and she suggested I focus on John Bender, the rebel. Karen knew that Andrews's team might be steering him in that direction, but she didn't think Andrew cared either way. "Playing the rebel will allow you to shine", Karen promised me.

"If Andrew knows you want to play Bender, he will give it to you." Karen said, " I'll do the rest, agreeing the jock is the role for him and suggesting he cut his hair short before the auditions."

Bender's anger and issues with his father needed to be seen when I said his lines.

"John is a victim of abuse, and he's mad at everyone around him."

"Have you ever experienced physical abuse in your life?" Karen asked.

        "Yes."

"Send yourself back to the past when you step in this character."

        "OK."

"Every person you talk to in the film is another version of someone you hate, someone who hurt you."

        "I can do that."

We worked on a few scenes.

"You are getting closer," Karen said, dismissing me.
