As I pushed the big ki ball back, I felt a huge surge of energy next to me. I looked over and saw that Pelsary transformed -- into a Super Saiyan! Her golden glow wasn’t to be mistaken. My jaw dropped slightly, but I continued to put all my strength into pushing back the blast.
“Now your true Super Saiyan powers are unleashed! Use them!” I demanded.
Using our combined strength, we pushed the ball of ki back at Gelida, which finally began to force him back.
“W-wait! N-no!!!” he yelled. He resisted with his own ball of ki, with considerably more force than before. But it wasn’t enough. He let out a blood-curdling shout as he was sent flying through the sky to god-knows-where. He must've still been around the planet, because we could still feel his energy.
I fell to my knees, sweating, and panting heavily.
“D…Damn it…”
I looked at Pelsary, who was somehow still standing on her feet...barely.
“H...h-how did...you get that power back?” I asked, barely able to get the words out of my mouth.
“I just….really didn't want to lose….I guess”, she panted. “I thought about all the people I needed to stay alive for…..and it gave me strength.”
“Who...did you need to stay alive for?” I barely spat. “Nebula? Some other person you care about? Honestly...I thought...I would die before seeing that form again. You may as well tell me who you thought about before you found your power again.”
“I thought about my mother, Nebula, of course, and I thought about her crew members: Skula, Tibiia, Vertabra, and Nukla. I thought about the promise I made to them, that I would rejoin them, and be a part of them again. That's when I knew I couldn't allow myself to die. I had a promise to keep.”
I looked to the side. “I see.”
I got up with the little energy I had left. “He’s still in the area.”
