An unexpected start

It was still summer. This was the last week and me and my friends had decided to meet up in Diagon Alley tomorrow. The story of Voldemort has come out and Voldemort had made it clear that he was back by constantly attacking people. One of his first attacks was at the beginning of the summer. He ordered his Death Eaters to attack Ollivanders wand shop and they took even a whole bridge with them! I'm scared that they will find me or Harry. We are the best chance this world can get and if we're gone, than it's game over.

I was at home with Dad and Sirius. I was reading the Daily Prophet, hoping for good news, because Draco had send me a letter, saying he needed to go on trail. There was a unnerving feeling inside my chest and not because Draco's trial. I had the feeling that he is going to become one. A Death Eater. His father is one of Voldemort's best men, so it wouldn't surprise me if he would come to me with the Dark Mark on his arm. Over the whole summer I had only gotten 5 or 6 letters, while it normally would be 25 in total. My Mark has also been burning a lot lately. It feels terrible and the worst thing is, is that if I don't show up at his meetings, the Mark will only hurt more.

But back to the paper. I found the info where I was looking for in the middle of the news paper. The title of the article said: Fallen from grace, Malfoy's wife and son leave the trial. I let out a sigh of relief and laid my head against the headrest of my chair.

"You seem happy." My father chuckled. "Yeah, Draco told me he was going on trial, he and his mother are cleared." I said. "The dirty bastards." Sirius hissed. "You seem irritated by it." I responded. "Yes, I am! They shouldn't let them go! They're Death Eaters!" He sneered. Again, the unnerving feeling. "I can say that from Lucius, but I'm not sure about Narcissa and I hope that Draco isn't one." I said. "Until there's proof, there're not guilty." Dad said. "You're right." I nodded.

There was a knock on the door and not much later, Dobby came running in. "Miss (Y/N), it's for you." Dobby squeaked. "Thank you, Dobby." I walked past him and towards the open door. In front of the door stood Dumbledore. "Professor Dumbledore, what are you doing here?" I asked. "I came here to ask you a favor." He answered. "Of course, come in." I stood aside so he could enter, but he didn't come in. "That won't be necessary, I'm gone within a minute." He smiled. "All right, what is it that you need?" A twinkle formed in his eyes. "An old colleague of mine is coming back to Hogwarts. I want you to get close to him, along with Harry." He explained. "Why? What is it that you need from him?" I asked. "I will tell you that when you come back to Hogwarts." He answered. "But how will I come close to him?" I asked. "He's going to teach Potions. He loves students that are talented and powerful, just like you. He taught both your parents and loved them both, but he favored your mother. He is going to try to collect you, you and Harry will be his crowning jewel. That's why he's coming back to Hogwarts. Let him get close to you, that's how you're going to do it." He explained. I nodded and with that, he left.

It was the next day and me and my friends met at Fred and George's joke shop. I knew Molly would never give the two money to start the shop, so I gave them some help. And they let me take stuff for free in return. The shop was, honestly, amazing! All the stuff I had seen over the years at Hogwarts were now here and there was even stuff I had never seen before. I stood with Ginny, Hermoine and Samira by the love potions when the famous twins came up to us. "Hello, ladies." They chorused. "Love potions, eh?" Fred asked. "Yeah, they do really work." George assured. "Then again, the way we hear it sis, you're just doing fine on your own." Fred teased. "Meaning?" Ginny asked. "Aren't you currently dating Dean Thomas?" The twins asked. "Non of your business." She retorted and sat the potion back down.

"Make sure you buy one so you can use it on Ron." I whispered in Hermoine's ear. Her head shot in my direction and her cheeks flushed a scarlet red. I gave her a wink and walked over to a cage with fluff balls in it. "And how is our favorite snake girl doing?" The twins asked as they stood besides me. "Good, actually. What are these things?" I asked, pointing at the balls of fluff. "That, (Y/N), are Puffskein's. They're completely harmless and they eat dust, so you don't need to feed them and they keep your room clean." Fred explained. "I'll take one." I smiled. "Which color?" George asked. "Color? Puffskein's only come in a custard-colored." I frowned. "These Puffskein's are specially bred to have a different color." Fred explained. "Do you have light-blue?" I asked. The twins nodded. "I'll take a blue one." I grinned.

Fred took a fluff out of the cage and handed it to me. The Puffskein was extremely soft and had two dark blue eyes. Out of the fluff came a long red tongue, which retreated back into the fluff after it touched my hand.

"(Y/N), you coming?" Hermoine asked. I nodded and followed her out. "How are Fred and George doing it?" Hermoine wondered out loud. "Half the Alley is closed." Daniel added. "They say people need a laugh these days." Ron explained. "I recon they're right." I said.

We walked past Ollivanders, which was attacked a few weeks ago. "Oh no, everyone got their wands from Ollivanders." Samira frowned. I walked up to the door and pushed it open carefully. It looked exactly like dad had described. Burned, broken down and abandoned. "(Y/N)." Ron called. He was looking out the window. I stood next to him and looked outside as well. "Is it me or do Draco and mummy look like they don't want to be followed?" He asked. The others had walked over to us and were now looking outside too.

Draco and his mother stood just outside the shop, looking around frantically. Not a second later, they entered the alley that led into Knockturn Alley. We exited the shop and followed them into the small alley. We followed Draco and Narcissa through the maze of small tunnels until they walked out onto the main street of Knockturn Alley. They eventually stopped by Borgain&Burgs.

Narcissa went in, but Draco stayed in his place. He had a pleading expression on his face and I knew from that moment on that there was defiantly something wrong. He eventually entered and the 6 of us stayed in our hiding place. In the corner of my eye I saw something light up and there came noise from the room where the light just went on. I looked at Harry and he understood what I wanted to do. He he formed a cup with his hands and stood by the wall. I set my foot into his hands and went onto the roof. I helped everyone up and we crawled over to a place where we could look through the window of Borgain&Burgs.

I looked through the window and Draco was inside, standing next to some kind of cabinet. He ran his fingers over it and it looked like he was inspecting the cabinet. I leaned further over the roof so I could see better, but one of the Death Eaters decided to stand in front of the window. I duck back down, out of sight and the others did the same. I looked back up again, but the window was now closed off with curtains.

What is that cabinet for? And for what does Draco need it?
