"Happy Halloween guys!" I smiled as I walked inside the martinez household with nas and our mom, I frowned once I noticed that that their was no one insight but abuelita at the dining room table With an altar and marigolds. "Hey Mom, where is everyone?" Mom asked. "Geny is putting the twins costume on, Ruby and Olivia are putting on their costumes and Ruben is at work." Abuelita replied and mom and I both nodded. "What are you doing abuelita?" I asked as I sat at the dining table. "Preparing for día de los muertos." Abuelita said. I raised my eyesbrow. Dia de los What? "What's that?" I said And mom chuckled. "It's day of the dead, a Latino holiday." Mom replied. I nodded, "and what's with the marigolds." "Ah, cempasúchil." Abuelita smiled. "Marigolds guide the spirits of the dead to their altars using their vibrant colors and pungent scent." "We decorate the ofrendas with our ancestors favorite foods, things, memories." Abuelita said and I smiled. Thats interesting and i find it amazing. "We have to put up their pictures on the ofrenda or else, they won't be able to cross over to the land of the living."
"See, mija, We believe it not as a day of sadness but as a day of celebration because our loved ones awake and they celebrate with us." She said. "That's beautiful abuelita." I said and she chuckled softly. "Do you wanna celebrate with us?" She asked. "I'd love to." I replied. "You'd love to what?" Ruby said as he walked out of him and the twins room. "Celebrate día de los muertos with you guys." I said and he nodded. There was a knock at the door, "I'll get it." Ruby said, he walked over to the door and swung it open. Revealing Monse and jamal. "Happy Halloween!" "What are you suppose to be?" Monse asked Me as she walked in. "Yeah. What are you suppose to be?" Ruby butted in. "I'm a lion tamer." I chuckled.

Then my phone buzzed and I looked down at my phone to see it was a text from emaza, saying her and the gang were outside waiting for me. "I gotta go, I'm going to some Halloween party with the gang." I said. "Wait, But it's not safe. You should do the shut in with us." Ruby said and Jamal and Monse nodded in agreement. "Yeah, Halloween parties in freeridge are a no go." Jamal said. "I'm gonna be fine guys, we're going to a party out in the suburbs." I said. "Well I can't tell you you can't go but I can tell you to be safe." Ruby said. I smiled softly, "I will primo." I kissed his forehead then scrunched up my face. "Why is your forehead so damn shiny." Ruby frowned at me and rubbed his forehead , "leave me and my shiny forehead alone." He pouted, I chuckled. "I'll see you guys later." I said, then I made my way out the door. The girls were parked infront of the house in Amara's car waiting for me. "FINALLY BITCH! COME ON I WANNA GET DRUNK!" Ashley screamed out the car window. "Your ass do not need to be getting drunk." Sydney said, I chuckled.
