"Walk carefully" said Elizabeth.
"Yes mother" Amynda replied as she walked across the room with a stack of books on her head. She walked across, back, and set the book down.
"That's me little angel" Elizabeth hugged Amynda and pinched her cheeks.
"Your turn Lily" Amynda said with a mocking tone. Lily stood up and walked across the room with a book on her head. She turned around and started walking back when the book fell. Elizabeth stood up smiling and walked towards her.
"How shamefull, going to have to beat the devil out of ya!" she screamed at Lily and began to beat the poor girl. Without thinking I got up and pushed the two apart. Amynda and Suzan gasped at my boldness.
"How dare you child! Lay a hand on your mother" Elizabeth punched me with brutal strength. The force of the blow sent me flying backwards into the wall. I felt another strike to my chest, and it knocked the wind out of me. I lay there stunned and in pain. Tears rolled down my face. At some point I heard them leave, Joan, Amynda, and Suzan. Later afterwards I think Lily dragged herself out. I lay there in pain, tears still rolling. The pain was all to much to bear.
"These people are psyco" I cried quietly.
William:
Thud, thud, thud the axe repeatedly hit the tree.
"Timber!" David and Samuel both cheered as the tall tree finaly fell.
"Good work boys" Woody said roughly patting them on the back. He turned to Bryce, Bill and I.
"Come on boys quite slacking! You'll be boys forever" he scolded us. I rolled my eyes. I continuously kept hacking at the tree. My arms were sore and felt like they'd fall off.
"Come on! WORK!" Woody cried. I dropped the axe on the ground and fell over myself. Woody towered over me. He looked pissed off, very pissed.
"Get up boy" he commanded.
"No way" I breathed.
"Get up! I am your father!" he yelled. 'The bastards insane!' I thought chuckling.
"No your not. Your just some bastard that has people kidnap kids" I laughed. I laughed, and then cried out as his heavy boot kicked me in the stomach. I heard David and Samuel snickering loudly and whispering to each other. Bryce chuckled nervously as well. I still wouldn't get up, so after repeatedly kicking me the group left. Bill and Bryce gave me a sympathetic look as they too walked away.
It wasn't until it was dark and the howling of wolves was freaking me out did I get up and go back inside. I should have ran or something, but I didn't know where to go to. As I neared the stair case I heard sobbing and went to go find out what it was. My stomach, eye, shoulders, and arms hurt like hell. In one of the rooms that girl I'd met was sobbing.
"You get beat to?" I whispered quietly. My whole body ached at the strain of speaking. She looked up and nodded very weakly. Her arm was bruised up and she clutched her stomach. She'd probably beat repeadly.
"They're witches here" I said quietly.
"Ps-psycos's" she added. I weakly managed to stand up and pull her up with me. Why I bothered helping I don't know why. As we made are way up the stairs she whimpered quietly. I could tell not only her stomach and arm hurt, but also her back. I flopped down in my bed in the bedroom all the children shared. My body sank down into the soft bed. I didn't feel like undressing, nor did I want to around the unfamilar people here.
In the morning I found fresh clothes provided for us. Since no one was awake I quickly put them on. The girl, um... I think her name was Raven, stired in her sleep and sat up. Wincing in pain because of her back and she clutched her purply-black bruised arm. I heard the sound of shoes tapping against the floor.
"Children! Breakfast is ready" Elizabeth announced as she rang a bell. She spoke cheerfully and had a happy grin on her face. Woody was beside her and also looked happy. 'One momment they're happy, but as soon as you disobey them they turn to using brute force. These people are psyco' I concluded with. Hesitantely I follwed the two downstairs. Soon after the others came down as well. Raven gave me a few nervous looks. Honestly I was scared; scared of the mad woman and man that kept calling us their children. It was creepy.
