Chapter 24: Crossroads

  One year later.....

   Queenie sat in her living room listening to her niece Nadine rant on and on about her new class n teacher. Ever since she moved back to the city her niece's and nephew's called her everyday to let her in on their daily gossip. She missed Richmond daily but she couldnt face him. She couldn't go back even if they begged.

   She left her businesses in the hands of her mother and sister since her brother and business partner Andre Adams is now behind bars. She received a phone call the same day she was leaving town; her mother was distraught she couldn't even explain to her so Stasi took the phone from her.

"Andre got arrested" her sister said barely could stop the tears from over flowing.

"What?" She exclaimed she pulled the car over.

"Where are you?  She asked

"Am leaving town"

"Leaving town, what about your business here. What about your relationship with Adrian. What about us?

"I need a fresh start" she said between tears. "Adrian and I broke up I leave everything to mom"

  With tears in her eyes she listened to her sister's plea for to come back home but her mind was already made up.

What everybody didn't know Adrian didn't broke up with her, Queenie left after seeing something so devasting, tears streamed down her face thinking about it. That same day she was about to share some exciting news.
Seeing Adrian kissing a woman who she assume was his ex made her blood boil.

  It took everything in her to walk up to them and asked what's the meaning of this. Instead she left with the little pride she has and left. Left behind her business her life in Richmond, her family and her love life. After moving back to the city she was really stressed over the kiss that she lost the baby. She was 4 weeks pregnant.

   After the miscarriage she poured her life into her work after establishing yet another business she started her own event planning she took up most of her time. She didnt have time for dating which she was not ready for. But her best friend Shanice saw her friend becoming a workaholic yv set her up on a blind date.
   Dane was a trainer at the gym and after there date things was going good with them. He took her mind of the miscarriage but Adrian she yearned for him. His touch, his witty attitude. After ending the conversation with the children, Queenie retired to her home office.

Thirty minutes in her work Shanice walks in with her bubbly and cheery self.
"I have good news"
"You and Leo getting are married?" Queenie questions.

Shanice ponder about that thought for a bit and smiles "nope, that would of been wonderful news to spread. Don't you think?" She asks
  Queenie smiles at her friend with a nod she let her friend continue. "I think you should move back to Richmond"

  With her puzzle look on her face, "now, just here me out. Since you came back your work became your only pirority."

" Am dating Dane which you set up' she adds in

"Yet, you can't stop thinking about him. Why don't you just call him am sure there is some logical explanation to what your saw".

  She gets up "ah, yes, the logical explanation to why he was tonguing down another woman. Look Shanice I left and I am not returning to that place again. My life is here; my work is here".

  Shanice looks at her stubborn friend and tossed the brown envelope towards her. "What's this?"

"It's the reason why you need to go back"

She opens it.  The contents of the envelope was bits and pieces of ideas someone wanted at a party picking up the paper she notice his hand writing. She could smell his intoxicating perfume, she looks at her friend who smiled at her " if this ain't fate I don't know what is" she says.

"I think it's time I moved back home" Angela says as she and Kaine left the Mini Mart and was going to the parking lot to there car.
Kaine glanced over to her as she was adjusting the sleeping baby on her shoulder. Early this year she birth to a baby girl Lana Andrea Bassett. He knew the day would come when she wanted to go back home and faced the music but Kaine didn't want her to go back. He was falling in love with her after she explained to him the real reason why she left he knew he had to protect her.

  She glance over at him; he was deep in thought. " I need to go back to clear this mess I started" she speaks again.

" What about Lana, what about us?"

She looks at him, his dark eyes boring into hers, "Lana's father is in jail because of me"

'he is where he belongs, he committed a crime and now he is serving his time. If you go back do you know the amount of trouble you would be in?" He asks her.

  Angela sighs after hearing that Andre is now behind bars she couldn't help but feel guilty. She knew it was all her fault and she knew she had to do the right even it means leaving Lana motherless for a few years. She loved Kaine but she needed to go back.

Stasi was happy, if someone would of told her a year ago that she would be back in Richmond with her kids. She would of laugh cause it was a dream she once dreamed off. She was now in her second year of college and still works at the club but she left her job at Black Diamond. She was so thrilled to share her news with her sister she came for a visit.

   She walks in her home since the door was open, Queenie glanced up seeing her sister, she gets up engulf her in a hug. "What are you doing here?"

"I need you to plan a event for me?"

"You could of called you know"

"I know but this I need to say in person"

Her sister nods "okay, what's it?"

" Am getting married" she says as extends her hand for her to see a diamond ring sitting on her finger.

Queenie smiles everything looks like it was looking up for sister but she couldn't say that about her self.
"Congrats" she mutters as she hugs her sister once again "let's get planning......
