"I'm not in the mood Mario." I said calmly. I say getting off my knees and febreezing my room once more. "I'm sorry Lia, just please listen." He says. I roll my eyes as I sit down on my bed head against the wall. He soon joins me. "It wasn't supposed to happen like this. I wanted to tell you, but I couldn't." He frowned. I frowned as well "why not? I'm your sister Mario. I wouldn't leave your side no matter what." I say placing my head on his shoulder.
"I know, I just." He sighs "I thought I could handle myself. I mean I'm gonna be a father I thought I could handle it on my own." He says. "But you don't have to. We're all here for you Mio." I say. "I know and I'm thankful." He says kissing the top of my head. I smiled as I hugged him. "I missed you so much." I say. "Tambien." He replied.
*knock knock*
We look to see Gabe. "did you guys call my name? I think I heard my name." He says. "Um no I didn't hear it Lia?" Mario asked I shook my head no. "Oh well." He shrugs and jumps on the other side of me as I giggle. I grab his hand and lean back on Mario. Soon Gabe lays his head on my shoulder.
Yes we fight, yes we argue, but in the end we make up. We truly wouldn't know what to do without each other. "Hey you guys forgetting someone?" Ruby says entering As I chuckle. "Come here Ruby." I say as he smiles all giddy and lays down in between my legs and his head on my chest.
I kiss his head as we all just sat there in silence. Until Ruby said something. "Have you guys ever been to Abuelitas hut?" I was so confused. "What hut?" Gabe asked. "You know in Mexico? Her little adobe hut? I wonder how she kept the walls up." He says staring at the ceiling. I couldn't help but chuckle.
"How much did she give him?" Mario asked. I chuckled and shrugged my shoulders "no sé we went out." I say. "Aye que lindo! Mis hermosos mijos." Mom says entering the room with a gushy look on her face. We all gave her a cheesy smile. "Te amo mucho mama." I say as the boys continued to smile.
"Alright up and at em it's almost midnight." She says. We all didn't want to me we were too lazy. So we sat there for a bit longer as she crossed her arms "cinco" She says "don't move she won't do anything." Gabe whispers to us. "Quatro." She said "she's scaring me." I whisper. "Don't give in." Mario he whispers "tres." "I swear She has the deviled Look in her eye." I say worried. "Yeah mio it's your call." Gabe says scared. "Dos." "Okay run!" He says as we all get up and run out to the living room.
"Todos it's almost midnight." Dad said as we all gathered in the living room. "Wait I have something to say." "Quick you got thirty seconds." Dad says. Soon Ruby goes into a long speech about how he's happy. And I was happy for him I smiled in admiration of my family as I looked around at Mario who was holding Ambers hand. I smile as I look to see Gabe and Jacob smiling at Ruby.
Everyone was here and I couldn't have been anymore happier. Then my mind drifted to Olivia. I frowned but she's in a better place it's alright. I shook it out of my mind and heard everyone countdown. "Five! Four! Three! Two! One! HAPPY NEW YEARS!" We all shouted popping the little confetti poppers as we all hugged each other. "Happy New Years Manos." I say hugging Gabe and Jacob. "Happy New Years" they say hugging back as I hug Mario too. "Love you Lia." He says "love you always Mio." I say hugging him tightly.
I jump up around looking for Ruby. As I past by hugging everyone. Soon I saw the door open and see Ruby head out. I follow him out to hear him hyperventilating and soon crying. I frown and follow him to the little offering we have for her.
"It should've never been you." He sobbed as I went to his side and hugged him tightly. I kissed his head holding him close as he continued to cry. "It should've been me." We hear a voice from behind. We turn around to see Cesar. Ruby walks off the sidewalk to Cesar who's in the middle of the street.
"I'm sorry. I'm so sorry Ruby." Cesar sobs as tears slip from my face. He looks rough. I frown as I knew I did nothing and watched it all go down. "I don't blame you. You did the right thing." Ruby says to him. Cesar shakes his head "no I didn't." "I got nothing but love for you." Ruby says as he hugs him. "It wasn't your fault." He says to Cesar as they hug again.
As they let go Cesar looks at me as I was in actual tears and frowning. "Ceci." He says. I shook my head not wanting to make eye contact. I hear footsteps approaching me as I feel arms wrapped around me. I did the same and sobbed. "I'm sorry I didn't do anything." I say crying into his chest. "It's not your fault Ceci." He says holding me tighter.
I let go wiping my tears away. "You did nothing wrong Cecilia." He says wiping away a new fresh tear. "I love you always" he says kissing my forehead. I nod my head "I love you too always." I say hugging him. "And just know that you can always sleep in my room." I whispered. He shook his head "I'll be okay." He says.
"I know you will but just putting it out there" I weakly laugh. He nods his head as o hear a fake cough. I turn around to see Ruby with Jamal and Monse. I chuckle as I go back inside leaving them to talk.
I wipe away my tears happy that he's okay. No one has seen him since the get down. "Lia. Oscar called." Gabe says giving me my phone. I smile as I take it and go into my room.

I sigh as I change out of my outfit and into my sweats and grab Oscars flannel he let me borrow and I just never wanted to give back. I slip on my white chucks as walk out. "Where you going Mija?" Abuelita asked. "Oscar. Please don't tell mom." I whispered as she nods her head and smiles.
"Be safe." She says as I nod my head and hug her.
*Oscars House*
Everyone cleared out already probably to do something stupid. I see his light is on as I frown and walk up to the door and let myself in. "Cecilia?" I hear. "Sí." I say as I walk to the opened room. I see him on the edge of the bed frowning and frustrated not sure what to do or say.

I frown as I just go behind him and hug him from behind. I kiss his neck as we just sat there in silence. "Please don't leave me." He said softly as he broke down and cried. "Baby I promise I won't." I say holding onto him tighter.
His sobs filled the room. Oscars only broken down once in front of me, and that was because he was the only one watching out for himself and Cesar. I just held him tightly as I kissed his head.
*ten minutes later *
He had stopped and I still held onto him tightly. He was vulnerable and needs someone to be there for him. I can never just let him go especially in this state of mind. First his dad left, his mom was a druggie and he got caught up in shit. I feel horrible to even talk about my life knowing that there are others who are in worse states than myself.
He took me out of my thoughts as he got up and closed the door. "Lets go to sleep." He says quietly. I nod my head and weakly smile. "Baby." I say he looks at me I grab his face softly and look him in the eyes. "I love you." I say he smiled weakly and kisses my hand. "And I love you." He says. "Thank you for being in my corner." He says as I smile and hug him.
He gets on the bed and takes off his shirt and lays down. I turn the light off and go lay down on his chest. "Good night Princesa." "Good night." I say as my eyes slowly start to close.
