I smiled and kissed his head. "Te Amo Emilio" I said laying my one year old in his bed and walked out to the backyard. "Mommy" I heard from the living room. "Si mi amor?" I answered. "watch?" My five year old Maria asked. She pointed at her iPad talking about 'Minions' "yes my love" I smiled and put it on for her as I walk into the backyard.
"Lupita take that off your head!" I said to my six year old daughter who was running around with a bucket on her head. "Daddy! Daddy! Mira!" She yelled for his attention.
"mi amor you look so beautiful" he smiled as he placed the spatula On the side of the grill. As he took the bucket off her head and picked her up. "Daddy look mommy's wobbly" she laughed at me waddling over to her and Oscar.
"So you're making fun of me?" I questioned my husband. "Me? What? Never." He laughed along with Lupita. "And you" I said tickling Lupita's feet. "I thought I asked you to help me set the table." I said as she continued to giggle and squirm in Oscars arms.
"Okay Mommy I'm sorry" she laughed it through as Oscar set her down. "She sure is isnt she." Oscar laughed as I smiled. "Mommy why is your belly so big?" She questioned. "Well Lupe, I don't know if you remember, but I'm having another baby." I smiled at her. "Woah" she said shocked as I giggled at her reaction.
"Go grab the napkins and plates, your tia's and Tio's are going to be here any minute now." I said. "Tio Gabby!" She squealed of excitement as I giggled and felt arms wrapped around me.
"We did that." Oscar said wrapping his arms around me. "We sure did." I replied "four times." I giggled. "Yeah, well I'm happy that I get to have my babies with you." He smiled and turned me around to face him. "Because we've been through hell and back, and I wouldn't change it for the world." He smiled as he kissed my lips. "Eres mi vida" he smiled "Eres mi todo." I replied and kissed him once more.
"And I promise not to abandon you, Lupita, Maria, and Emilio ever." He said as he went down and held
My belly "nor you" he smiled and kissed my belly.
I smiled widely as I look at the man who was once a gang member become a husband and father.
