Allyson Sommer's Point of View.
(The rest of the story will be in third persons)I sit in my room, reading on a journal from my cousin Jeremy's ancestors. I believe in vampires, I know they're real. I mean, wolves exist, I know that too. This world is a wicked place, with even worse creatures. Humans, I see us as wicked creatures too. We can be so vicious lately.
My mother is Jenna Sommers, she had me when she was young. I guess she would have been thirteen? She had explained to me that she was raped by a man way older, that he died in prison. But regardless, she was raped and got pregnant at the age of 13. It's messed up. Ya see that's why I say humans are vicious creatures. Makes me like vampires more than my own species.
The only family members I miss seeing are my two cousins, Elena, and Jeremy Gilbert. Elena and I may be cousins, but we're best friends.
"Allyson, come down here, now!" Mom's voice calls from downstairs, and I can tell from the tone that it's not good.
I close the Gilbert journal that Elena's uncle John gave me, and I rush downstairs. "What's wrong, mom? You look like you've been crying."
"It's Miranda and Grayson," Jenna says. "They were in a car wreck with Elena, they went off the wickery bridge."
My eyes widen, "what?"
"Grayson and Miranda didn't make it, Ally," Jenna says as she touches my shoulders. "Elena's alive, no one is sure how. But we have to move to Mystic Falls... I was given custody of the two."
I nod. "I'll go pack, mom."
Mom hugs me before she lets me go upstairs. I sigh as a tear falls. My aunt and uncle died. But at least Elena's alive, right? Miranda and Grayson wouldn't want me all depressed and stuff over this. Who do you think taught me about vampires? Grayson knew they existed too. He told me how to tell if they're a vampire.
I pick up a picture I have with Elena and Jeremy's parents, and a frown forms on my lips. "I miss you guys, already. But don't worry. I'll keep an eye on Elena and Jeremy, especially in Mystic Falls. I remember everything you taught me, uncle Grayson."
I put the photograph in my suitcase along with the picture I had taken when Elena when we were ten. Elena and I share a birthday, which is a blessing, according to mom.
"Allyson, hurry!"
***I hug Elena when mom and I make it to the Gilbert house in Mystic Falls. It's the beginning of summer vacation, and her parents are both dead now. It's horrible for her, and I hate it.
"I'm here for you, Lena," I state. "You and Jeremy, you're my family."
Jeremy looks at me, and he has bloodshot eyes. I walk over and I engulf Jeremy in a hug, and he actually hugs me back.
"It'll be okay, kid," I whisper before pulling away. "I'm here now, you'll be okay."
Jeremy just hugs me instead of replying verbally, and he shows me my room, across the hall from his and beside Elena's.
