Mark's POV.I checked the surveillance on my computer. The camera at the front entrance showed a girl entering the living room. She made as if to come upstairs but thought better of it. The blue dress did make her look gorgeous. It made her seem more innocent than she was. Honestly, she was a devil. She was costing my friend Allan a lot.
"Don't forget your tie." I announced to him. Allan picked the tie and placed it on the bed with the rest of the suit. It was an all black suit. I got it for him. I picked the color and brought it to him. Black color is his favorite. It is an amazing color. Colorful even.
"Your date is waiting. She's down stairs."
"She is early. Still about thirty minutes to go.I like the suit though. It will definitely do." He said with satisfaction. Once again he was impressed. I never failed him. And that was why he trusted me more than the rest of the gang. He trusted me enough to come clean with the secrets of his life. Enough to tell me that his life was in the line. Honestly, I feared he might not return in one piece tonight, if he returns at all.
"Fun fact, people who like black colour have the most colourful minds." I stated. It is true.
"Of course, why do you think I like it." He replied smiling. "Black always blends in. It stands for power. It brings calmness and greatness."
"Red?" I challenged. He was quoting poems again. Well, anything to bring back the old poetic Al.
"Haste and dangerous."
"What about blue?"
"Sweet and loveable. A hidden gesture for beauty."
"Green?"
"Jason and Timothy."
"Huh?"
"Disgusting but useful." He said smiling. "Speaking of, any news from them?"
"Yeah, the truck is on its way to the school."
"They didn't pay him, did they?"
"Nope. Poor guy he will never know what hit him." I said. "Let's hope they aren't followed behind. Our files and dealings with them are already erased."
"That is why I sent Tim with him." Allan reassured.
There is still some good in Al. He plays a risky game with other drug dealers. We order for drugs, the best that we can find. On delivery we then fail to pay for them and disappear without a trace. And we made a pretty good team.
Jason and Fred would go for them, bring them to our warehouse and make sure they weren't followed. As for Tim, he was our distraction. Many would mistake him for the mastermind behind the dealings. He'd maintain contact with the dealers promising direct payment on delivery. And that is where I came in. I erased our records and files of our dealings from their system. And with that no payment would made. Allan would be the mastermind behind it all.You see Allan is not the evil villain like he might seem. He is not even into drugs. He despises their use. But since he can't do much to the illegal trade the best alternative was to take from them dealers. As for the selling he never forced anyone to buy them.
"Aren't you afraid that Jay might track you down. If he's as good as a dealer as they say he will track us."
"Dealers like him shouldn't even exist. If he is looking for payback, let him come." Allan ended.
"How about the assassin? There is a pretty good chance for an attack tonight."
At the mention of that he paused. It still worried me. It also bothered me that a trained person would be sent to kill Allan. What was with this country. A helpless guy barely out of his teens in a kill list of someone.
"No doubt that whoever he is will attack tonight. He will surely seize this opportunity. That's why am going prepared." He said as he held a hand-sized gun. On my side I didn't like guns. They held an aura of vegeance, evil. "If he is looking for me, he will find me waiting."
That kind of reassured me that everything will be fine. I mean, after all it was just one assassin after him, right?
If only we knew how many more were after him.Allan's POV.
I wore a black tuxedo suit. It came with a black tie and a nicely folded handkerchief. It was also black. Black shoes and a white shirt. The suit was specially designed to stand out in a crowd as well as to please a special someone.
My date was waiting for me. She had preferred to come for me instead of me picking her up at her place. She was in the living room already. I was not in a hurry. No woman would hurry me up. No matter how special she thought she were. I tied the tie, taking my time. We still had twenty more minutes to pass. I still remember last night when I received her call. Tracy. I hadn't seen her yet but I could tell she would be beautiful. One way or another I was going to own her tonight.
I checked myself in the mirror, got satisfied with the look and headed out. At the stairs I could see her standing facing the window. My date. She was being dramatic. She already knew I was descending.
She wore a gorgeous blue dress that hugged her figure well. As she turned I found myself wishing that it was her. She turned and an expected down feeling filled me."Hey Allan," she greeted.
"Hey Suzzane."
