Here it is again. She's back, and crying.

"(Y/n)..." Mason spoke before giving the girl a hot fudge brownie.

It has always been like this, (y/n) will have fights against her boyfriend, she will end up crying, he will end up comforting her.

"I just don't understand Mason! Why would he do that? How can he cheat on me again when I've given him a lot of second chances!" (Y/n) cried out, pulling a tissue out from her 3rd box.

Mason just glanced down, it pained him to see her in this state. It pained him every time that she comes to his doorstep with eyes filled tears. He had been in love with (y/n) for god's know how long. But he just kept his mouth shut.

(Y/n) continued to sniff, glancing at her best friend for some comfort. "Is it
.. is it me? Am I the one who's wrong?" She asked again, the question suddenly made Mason snap. He stood up and grabbed a hold of her shoulders then looked at her in the eyes.

"What?! No! (Y/n), listen to me... You're the most amazing person I've met and I know that the others would agree with me on that statement. You've got nothing to cry about, nothing to be guilty of. It's that bastard's fault, not yours." Said Mason before taking a seat next to the weeping girl. "(Y/n), you know you're better than this. You know what to do best for yourself. Don't let yourself get repeatedly thrown over by some guy you met at the bar. So please, I can't help you if you keep letting yourself down." He added, wiping the tears away from the girl.

(Y/n) stopped and stared at Mason, a new found determination blooming inside her chest. She couldn't help but blush at the compliments that were bombarded into her. She let out a smile, a smile that Mason was grateful for.

(Y/n) slowly wrapped her arms around Mason, "Thank you... You were always there when I needed someone." She said and slowly, Mason hugged her back with a faint smile on his lips.

"You can do it (y/n), and I'm.always here to support you." And so, after that memorable hug, (y/n) stood up, and left. Not giving a second glance back at Mason who was giving her a sad smile.

Weeks later, (y/n) had asked Mason to meet up at a coffee shop saying that she wanted to tell him something.

Fixing his outfit, Mason glanced at the mirror one more time before grabbing his car keys and heading to his destination.

Entering the coffee shop, the smell of freshly brewed coffee hit his nostrils whilst he scan the place for a familiar face he had always loved. Spotting the her from the side of the window with a book in her hands, he slowly made his way to her, a grin never leaving his face.

Mason decided that today was the day he would tell her how he feels. Surely that weeks later, she would at least be a little better from her breakup.
He took a seat in front of (y/n) in which she greeted with a cheerful smile. "Mason!" She exclaimed, hugging the man before getting back in her seat.

"Hey, how's my favourite girl?" (Y/n) giggled at that statement, not knowing the heavy truth behind it.

A minutes passed between them, (y/n) took the courage and break the silence. "Mason, I wanna say thank you. For everything. Literally, without you, I don't know where I'll be right now." She exclaimed making Mason smile wider, was this it? This was the right time to tell her!

"(Y/n), I'm glad that I was able to help you out. And I did say that I'll always be there for you because... Because I love you." Mason admitted, taking her hand in his. (Y/n) them smiled gently back at him.

"Mason... I love you too. You're the greatest friend anyone could ever ask for." She finished, not noticing the smile from Mason slowly dropped. "No, I what I mean is–" Mason tried to justify but we're cut off by a voice,

"(Y/n)?" The two glanced to their right to see another man standing there with a grin on his face. (Y/n)'s eyes lit up and jump out of her seat and pulling the man a big hug. A hug that Mason never thought she could give.

"Jay! You're here!" She spoke out loud in excitement, pulling Jay to seat next to her. "Mason, this is Jay, the owner of this coffee shop. She gestured around them, the McCreamy coffee shop. And my new boyfriend." So that's what she wanted to talk about...

"And Jay, this is Mason, my best friend. The one I was talking about." She introduced, Jay gave Mason a firm before putting his hand out. "It's a pleasure to meet you man," Mason forced a smile and held his hand. "Me too dude, glad you were able to have (y/n)." He added, ignoring the pain in his chest.

And there it was again, the cycle continues, (y/n) was oblivious yet again to his attempted actions.
