"It's either so dangerous that I have to hide or it's so easy that you're going to be sidelined" I heard Bella say to Edward as I walk out the house and meet them by his car.
"It's dangerous for you, it's easy for us" he smirks at his remark.
"I think it's dangerous for us to be apart" Bella pleads.
"It's true" I interject. "She'll be worried, you'll be worried... you'll both be more vulnerable."
"Ok.. you're right" Edward agrees.
"Cool. So the both of you'll stay away together. I'll go find Jake and tell him" I negotiate.
"What? No. Fly you're coming too"
"Bella you're the one she wants not me"
"Yeah and if you're out there fighting she'll go straight for you because she won't be able to find me" she made sense.
"Just like last time" Edward reminded, like I forgot.
"Come on Jasper's waiting with Jacob at the site" Bella says tugging me along into the car, preventing me from arguing anymore
________
"What's going on?" Jacob asks looking at me.
"We're not fighting. We're keeping away from it all, hiding" I explain.
"But I can't carry them both up there and my smell won't disguise their scents" Edward explained. "Your stench however is revolting"
"Dude, you really don't want to be comparing stinks" Jacob joked. He joked! What were they friends now? What was happening?
Edward laughed. "Look I'll carry Bella up there first and you follow behind carrying Fly. Your smell would mask them both if you trail after us" Edward planned with him.
"Sure this is not a good idea?" I say looking at Jasper.
"Fly, trust me this will work. They won't want to get anywhere near his smell" Jasper reassured.
"Let's just try it" Bella instructed.
Edward pulled Bella in and lifted her up, carrying her through the woods. Jake and I waited 15 minutes before doing the same, giving us enough time so that we weren't directly behind them.
"Ok you're up" Jasper instructed, patting Jacob's shoulder as he left the grounds to go back to the others. Jake pulled me in close before holding me carefully in his warm, strong arms. He carried me bridal style into the woods, making sure that we walked in same path that Edward and Bella had.
"So you going to ask me to sit out too?" Jacob leered.
"If I did would you listen?"
"Probably not" he discloses. "I wouldn't have a choice anyways, since I let Sam be aplha male,I've got to live with the shots he calls."
"Let him?"
"I didn't want to be in a pack, let alone be its leader"
"Chief Jacob" I giggle at the thought.
"Every choice has its own consequences though" he whispers looking down at me.
"Jake don't start with this again" I mumble. "I'm not a wolf, I can't imprint" I try to explain in a way that he might understand. I can't just let myself get lost in love, especially when I've been burned by the same person before.
"It has nothing to do with imprinting. I know you feel something for me, I can sense how I make you feel, physically. I make you nervous" he smirks, his face lowering closer to mine, never breaking his eye contact.
