Times of Need

His eyes lose light as his anger nears,

But it has never been him that I fear.

The love he struggles to keep inside

Cannot control the fury he hides.

God, grant him strength which I cannot give.

Give him the will to love and to live.

God, grant him courage to face every test

And help us survive the weight of the stress.

Thank You, dear Father, for Your gift to me,

For he brightened my vision when I could not see.

I pray for Your strength, Your courage and love,

And a miracle sent from Heaven above.

God, give us wisdom to face this tough trial,

And help our true love to prove it worthwhile.

Help us find out what is making him weak

So we know which doctor we need to seek.

It's unfair, the situation he's in.

We need Your help if we are to win.

I love him, dear Father, more than my life.

Please, help him get well to make me his wife.

**This poem is being submitted to be published in Eber & Wein's "Who's Who in American Poetry".  It is written for my fiance, whom is sick and I worry for him every day.  We would appreciate any prayers that you would feel comfortable saying.  It is not a pleasant time for us, and it is a very hard journey that is still ahead of us.  Thank you for taking the time to read this.**
