alamort: (adj) half dead of exhaustion

The car bumped along the gravel road. You could hear the rocks flying up and hitting the car. Soon, they would be at Aunt Lesley's house. Honestly, her house was like a castle. Emme loved it there, it was just so big and spacious with rooms at every corner of the house and a huge library and everything you can think of.

Lesley's house was in the middle of the woods in a foreign area to Emme. She had been her once when she was little and she would pretend she was a princess.

Lesley owned a dog named Sydney. She was a precious little thing. Sydney loved Emme. Or at least that's what it was like last time she visited.

The climbed up the many stairs that lead up to the front door. Kimm rang the doorbell.

The doors opened and Lesley stood in jeans and a dirty t-shirt with Sydney in her arms.

"Emerson! I heard what happened. I am so sorry," Lesley rushed out, attempting to settle down Sydney as she was worming around, trying to get to Emme.

A grim line settled onto Emme's lips and considering it was still a fresh wound, the action was justified.

The realization of what she had said dawned on  Emme's aunt. Her hand flew up to her mouth and covered it with her hand in shock.

"I am so sorry, I had-," Emme held up a hand to her and smiled.

"It's okay," Emme said with pity. Lesley could only smile at Emme's graciousness. She stepped out of the way and let Kim and Emme in. She closed the door and set Sydney down who immediately ran to Emme.

They walked up a large staircase that leads into a long hallway.

"Your room is at the very end. You see," Lesley said pointing, and Emme nodded.

"Why don't you go get settled in while me and your mom talk about some arrangements, Ok," Lesley more demanded than suggested.

Emme walked down the hallway and when she reached her room, the door was open. Inside was a bed, queen size. It had an orange duvet on it. In fact, most of the room was orange, a dusty shade of orange. It was beautiful.

And in the room, there was even a window seat. It was a beautiful view. There were some woods and Emme could see a body of water. A potential secret spot. She yanked out her phone and sent a picture to Cam captioned beautiful, isn't it.

There was no immediate reply. Emme pursed her lips, oh well.

She started unpacking and putting things in their place, moving some things around too.

"Emme! Your mom is leaving," her aunt yelled. Emme went downstairs and hugged her mom goodbye.

Dead with exhaustion, Emme and Lesley entered the living room.

"I'm making chicken sandwiches for dinner. Is that good," Aunt Lesley asked. Emme nodded. Aunt Lesley explained the tv to Emme and then left the room.

Emme was surfing the channels when she got a text.

not as beautiful as u ;)

Cam was so sweet. To nice though. Emme didn't think she was beautiful. But sometimes you are your own worst enemy.

Over dinner, Emme and Lesley talked about school and therapy.

"You'll be attending Rill Academy. It's honestly a great school. Amazing academics and students. And you'll start seeing Dr. Wheelis," Lesley said. Emme nodded.
