Sighing as I close the dining room's door behind me, I look around.

The halls are empty, Lucette must have gone further on already. Actually, maybe she's talking to Fritz? I picture an image of the knight with tan colored skin and silver hair with gold eyes. Fritz is supposed to be Lucette's personal knight. At first, he was supposed to be both my sister and I's, but I was able to convince father that I didn't need Fritz taking care of me. Besides, I think it's sweet how Lucette tolerates him. I hope their friendship develops later on.

I smile and hum a sweet melody to myself as I walk down the halls. Suddenly, I realize something important. Two days ago, the king asked me to accompany Emelaigne to the town and said that Lucette and Rod would be going too. I was a bit surprised that Lucette agreed, but I happily accepted his offer. It's been several years since my sister went outside of the palace, but if I were to be honest, I'm worried.

The townspeople's opinion of Lucette is not the greatest.

In the great war my mother, Hildyr, who was feared by the people of Angielle, passed away. Because of Lucette's resemblance to her, the town has also grown to dislike and fear her too.

However, even though I am blood-related to Hildyr, the townsfolk have warmed up to me. Years ago, I realized that the people of Angielle distrusted and feared me. I did everything in my power to change their opinions. I visited the sick and poor regularly and visited all the shops. Sometimes, I even snuck out because the king didn't want me to go alone.

I just wish I could have changed their opinion of Lucette.

Stopping at the sight of my sister talking with Fritz, I see an annoyed look on her face.

"Lucette?" I say, but she doesn't seem to hear me. I slowly walk closer to them.

"It won't be that bad. The townsfolk are good people." Fritz says to Lucette, trying to reassure her.

Lucette looks at him.

"How can you be so sure?" She says, frowning.

Fritz looks sad for a few seconds before he puts on a smile.

"...Times have changed. People have changed." My sister's personal knight says, looking at the plants nearby.

Lucette scoffs.

"That's precisely the problem, Fritz." She says, closing her eyes.

I decide to approach my sister and her knight.

"Don't worry Lucette. I'll be going with you to town. You might not think so now, but change can sometimes be for the better." I say, alerting the attention of Lucette and Fritz.

Lucette frowns and looks down. She seems to be taking in what I just said.

"Oh, good morning, Princess," Fritz says, taking a short bow as he smiles at me.

"Good morning, Fritz. Thank you for talking with Lucette. Do you have any errands to do?" I say. The silver-haired knight just bows and grins at me.

"It's my pleasure. And yes, I do have some tasks from my father. I'll be going now. Goodbye princesses." Fritz says, as he casually walks down the hall. Lucette turns to me and speaks.

"Y/n, do you believe that the townspeople are fond of me?" She asks.

"Of course, Lucette. But if you want to hide from them, I'll stand beside you so they can't see you as well." I try my best to reassure Lucette, but it doesn't go as well as I would have hoped..

My sister stares at the ground. There's a brief silence between us before a mysterious, green-haired, man comes up to us.

"Good morning, your highnesses." He says, smirking as he bows to us. Lucette is surprised for a second before she turns to her normal, icy, self. I breathe and try my best to smile back.

"Yes, thank you, Sir Mythos," I say. He looks at me with a small smile and turns back to Lucette.

"...Sir Mythos." She says, looking at him.

For some reason, I've always had a peculiar feeling about the royal advisor, Sir Mythos. My father trusts him a lot, but I can not shake off this feeling that tells me he's suspicious.

"Everyday, you look more and more like your mother." He says to Lucette. "You too, Princess Y/n,"

I bite my lip and try to shrug off the shady aura Sir Mythos has that is surrounding him. One time, Lucette and I were walking down the halls, and we saw him talking to a portrait of our mother. Needless to say, of course, I thought it was a bit suspicious, but Lucette just assumed he admired Mother very much.

"Both of you are on the way to meet the king, am I right?" Sir Mythos asks with a sly grin.

I nod in reply.

"I shall not keep you two then. Until our next meeting, dear princesses," He says with a bow and walks away.

When Sir Mythos is finally gone, I breathe a sigh of relief.

"Lucette," I say.

"Yes?" She replies.

"I can not help but feel Sir Mythos is a bit, well, suspicious," I mutter. Lucette looks at me with stone, cold. eyes.

"He does seem rather, odd, at times." She replies.

"I just hope he is only 'odd' and nothing more," I whisper to myself, but I'm sure Lucette heard it.

Lucette and I continue making our way to the throne room where the king awaits.
