"Come on, let's go watch it!" Emelaigne says, dragging my hand along. Before Lucette gets left behind, I quickly also snatch her hand and pull her along with me.

We all stand in a spot not too crowded in order to see the performance. Even though I am the youngest, surprisingly my height is very close to Lucette and Emelaigne. As we focus our attention to the performer, a small boy, he begins introducing himself.

"Good day, everyone!" The boy says, holding out his right hand with a black glove that seems to not to fit him.

"My name is Waltz, and I'm here to spread some happiness and magic!" He says. With a snap of his fingers, pink flower petals start raining down on the crowd. I hold out my hand and one petal goes on it. The audience explodes with applause, and Emelaigne and I do the same.

"Isn't that pretty, Y/n?" Emelaigne says to me. I nod my head up and down.

"Mmhm, I wonder how he did it? Do you think he's a fairy or witch?" I ask. Lucette tenses up a bit beside me. Emelaigne thinks for a second before smiling.

"Maybe, but his magic tricks really are beautiful!" She replies.

Suddenly, the boy named Waltz alerts our attention.

"And are those the princesses over there? It is an honor to have you in attendance!" Waltz cries out. "Please accept this gift!" With another snap, three white lilies appear between his fingers. Emelaigne gasps softly beside me.

"Oh thank you!" My sister says, thanking it gratefully.

I smile at him and Waltz smiles back. He looks really happy for some reason. I take it and mutter a 'thank you'.

Lucette finally takes the last lily, but she doesn't respond or react.

Waltz frowns a bit and sighs while putting on a small smile.

"I hope to see you again in one of my shows, princesses." He says, bowing to us.

I nod and respond.

"Of course, Waltz!" I say with a big smile. For some reason, he stares at me a bit dazzled and quickly thanks me.

Once more, he bows and then moves over to another gathering crowd.

Emelaigne then turns to Lucette and me.

"There are performers like this all over Angielle! I really do love them!" She says so cheerfully. "I do wish we'll also get to see musicians around Angielle too!"

I nod but before I can open my mouth, Lucette opens hers first.

"I do not intend leaving the palace ever again." She says with a cold look.

Emelaigne is clearly taking back, as her face shows surprise.

She frowns, "But...you don't like it out here?" She forces a smile on her face. "Rod and I grew up here. I really do love Angielle."

Lucette's face shows a tiny look of disgust, as her eyebrows are furrowed down.

"I really wanted to share this with you, Lucette. I'm so happy you decided to come even if you didn't want to." Emelaigne says, smiling sheepishly.

"I did not do this for you." My sister's cold words land a direct hit on Emelaigne. I bite my lip, looking at Lucette with a 'don't do this...' look. However, she ignores my stare and continues.

"I am only here because the king ordered me to," Lucette speaks her mind. Although this is the truth, I can not help to feel that she phrased it too harshly.

Emelaigne stays quiet, she looks like she's on the brink of tears. Finally, she speaks.

"I-I just wanted us to become closer, Lucette. I wanted to become your friend..." She says in a small voice.

"I do not want or need your friendship," Lucette says again. Her ice cold words are like needles pricking Emelaigne's skin. "Regardless of how you act, we will never, ever, be sisters. You need to remember that." Lucette's statement seems to be too much, as Emelaigne finally has tears in her eyes. Rod quickly comes over and pulls Lucette away, his grip tight.

Rod looks at her with a flame burning in his eyes.

"Stop."

Lucette is a bit surprised by this but then masks it with a mask of annoyance.

"R-Rod, don't," Emelaigne says. I frown, what do I do when my two sisters are fighting?

"Let. Me. Go." Lucette says, staring daggers at Rod.

My brother releases her after staring at her. He says nothing.

"Both of you ought to stay away from me," Lucette says, looking back and forth between Emelaigne and Rod. I bite my lip again, everyone is staring at Lucette in disbelief, fear, and anger.

She begins to walk away.

"Lucette! Wait!" I call out. My sister turns to me.

"Don't follow me, Y/n."

She then continues walking. Fritz tries to go with her, but I hold him back, fearing that Lucette might yell at him.

"Princess..." He says. His look in his eyes seems to be pleading with me. "Please Princess, I need to go to your sister." Fritz takes my hand unexpectedly and holds it. My eyes widen for a few seconds but then I decide.

"Fine, Fritz. Keep Lucette safe from the townspeople for me." I let him go. He smiles back and bows to me, before running after my sister. I sigh and turn to Emelaigne and Rod.

"Em, are you okay?" Rod says with a gentle look on his face. I've never seen him this gentle before.

Emelaigne nods, wiping away her tears.

"Yes, Rod. I'm fine." She mutters. I walk over to her and take both of her hands.

"Emelaigne, I'm sorry I couldn't do anything. Please don't mind Lucette," I say. Emelaigne shakes her head and smiles wryly.

"It's not Lucettes or your fault, Y/n. But thank you for being so kind to me." She hugs me and then pulls back.

Rod looks at me and opens his mouth, "Yes, thank you, Y/n. Although your sister has not shown any kindness to us, you have since the first day we arrived at the palace." My brother looks at me with a small smile.

I smile back. This is one of the uncommon moments, where Rod speaks to me.

"Of course! We're family, after all."

I look around at the townspeople, who are just living the life of a commoner, but they share the same happiness like I do.

I wish Lucette can experience this too, one day.
