Uneasy ride

Fritz finally finds Lucette, and the ride back home is not so pleasant.

Emelaigne and Rod are clearly uncomfortable with the presence of Lucette. To be truthful, I am a bit too. However, I am far more worried that she is still angry. 

I open my mouth to speak, but my mind cannot think of anything to say. I close it and look back outside the window. 

I wonder how Lucette felt? To be sent all those hateful looks even after so many years. To be looked like a monster. 

'I didn't know how it felt.' The thought circles around in my mind.

'I didn't know the feeling of being hated.' I chew slowly on my upper lip. Trying to get these thoughts out of my head. 

But I can't.

No matter how I try, imagining the thought of being looked with disgust is too much for me. 

I'm selfish.

I know that very well. 

I want to be liked by everyone, and make people happy.

My sister is amazing. She is able to get through things I cannot.

I really look up to her sometimes.

Suddenly, I see a familiar environment. I poke my head fully out the window. We're back at home, I see. 

Taking a slight glance at Lucette, she seems still annoyed but relieved now that we're here.

The driver gets off and bows to us. Emelaigne, Rod, and I bow back, while Fritz opens the doors and Lucette immediately makes her way into the castle.

I stare off at her figure fading into the distance.

"Don't worry, princess. She'll be fine." 

I look up at the figure next to me. I must have been frowning for Fritz to notice that. Putting on a small smile, I nod.

"Yes, thank you, Fritz."

"Of course." He replies back with a smile.

I too then walk into the castle with Emelaigne and Rod, waiting to go on my soft bed that could easily decrease all my worries.

'I'll visit Lucette in the morning, and we'll talk on the way to breakfast,' I thought, and softly smiled as I was slightly satisfied. 

I didn't know what would be waiting for me the next morning, however.

A bit short, but I wanted to make two separate chapters, as I believed it would be more fitting :)
