I walk onto the stage  smiling confidently. There was no need for me to hold the skirt of my  dress the way my escort showed me. I was wearing a fire-engine red  strapless dress and the skirt was ruffled and shorter in the front than  in the back. There was a high beaded waistline and big black roses were  attached to the hem of the long part of my skirt. To finish my look, my  stylist curled my hair and left it down (which I was pretty mad about  since it's always up) and clipped another black rose in to hold back a  few strands that kept falling in my face. As I sat down, I could almost  swear that I heard someone wolf-whistle in the crowd and I blush.

"Why should you win The Hunger Games?" Brielle asks.

"Well I've got nothing  to prove to anyone that's for sure," I said in my mind I added, "Except  for to Lyle." I don't think he knows I exist. He was always flirting  with the other girls. Everyone but me and it frustrated me. Trust me, I  could get a boyfriend if I wanted -I'm not ugly- but I don't want just  any guy. At the reaping, I had thought that if I volunteered or got  picked and I won, I would come home and Lyle would have to notice me.  But it backfired because somehow, Lyle ended up on that stage with me  and now if I want to go home, he has to die. I continued out loud,  "Anyone at home will tell you I'm the best at what I do, but I kind of  have a lot of pressure on me. My parents were both victors, and my older  brother was a victor too. I should win because of the obvious reason  that I'm just stronger than most of the tributes. But I should also win  because if I do, I'll find a way to make a change in District 2. For  example, I'll train some of the younger kids myself because I hate it  when a twelve Year old gets reaped and then dies because they dont have  enough training." Twelve year olds were my only weakness mainly because  my little brother had been picked and died on the first day. Also the  Capitol just loved it when one of the stronger tributes showed a softer  side. Just before the buzzer rang I adjusted the rose in my hair and  became painfully aware of how much I probably looked like a stupid tango  dancer, turned to face the audience and say, "Please sponsor me so I  can make a change."
