Chapter 18

Derek's pov

I am heading to the house as I speak right now. Yeah yeah I'm over an hour late getting home from school. Why? I had to make up a test that I missed on Thursday because we were out looking for Justin.

I pulled up into the driveway and got out. I locked the car and headed for the front door. As soon as I opened the door I saw Jai running around the living room with Justin.

"Hey you two what's going on?" I ask them as I shut the door.

"Just running around why are you getting home so late?" Justin asks me while straightening himself out

"Had a make up test to do and then I had to help Aspen and Alex do something and now I'm home" I say as I head into the kitchen to see Jason making Jai something to eat.

"Hey Jase" I say as he turned to look at me.

"Hey man how was the make up test?" He asks me

"It was alright yeah after the make up test I had to stop by Aspens and help him and Alex do some stuff" I tell him as Justin chased Jai into the kitchen.

"No! Daddy help me he's gonna get me!" Jai says hiding behind Jason's legs and he looked over at Justin

"Oh really well what was Justin gonna do?" Jason asks him

"He was gonna tickle me till I said only if you can catch me" he says we all kind of laughed a little bit and Jason picked up Jai

"Well your food is ready so you ready to eat " he asks him

"Yep" he says as he sat him down at the table he smiled up at Jason and started eating his Chicken tenders

"So Jai how was school?" Jason asks him

"It was ok except for that kid that pushed me down at school" he says

"Well what happened?" He asks him

Jason's Pov

"Well what happened?" I asked Jai as he ate his food

"We were coming back inside from recess and he tripped me and I hit my head on the door, but I didn't really care because you told me it's not nice to hit others while I'm in school so after school-" I cut him off

"Jai when I said it's not nice to hit others I meant it" I tell him as he just looked at me

"But daddy" he says

"No Jai I mean it what did you do after school before I came to get you?" I ask him

"Wellll I made sure that no one was around and I beat him up" he tells me

"Well someone's just like their daddy" Justin says while looking at Derek and they laughed

"Hey you two I only do that because people get on my nerves and half the time it's to defend you Justin" I say as I look at them

"Jai please promise me you won't get into anymore fights at school" I say as he just looked at me

"I promise daddy" he says while looking down at his lap

Later That Night

Jason's pov (continued)

Well after Jai had finished eating I gave him a bath and managed to find some of my old pajamas and put them on him. Where is he now? He's asleep in my room I am currently in the living room with Justin and Derek.

"Honestly Jase is it so bad for Jai to be like you?" Justin asks me

"Honestly yes what I do is bad I get in fights and ditch class and half time I get away with messing around with guys and girls in school" I say as I felt my phone buzz in my pocket I pulled it out to see that I have a text from Amy telling me that she'll be here soon to get Jai.

I put my phone back in my pocket and rested my head against the side of the couch

Man I don't understand why Jai has to feel like he needs to beat up kids all of a sudden.

There was a knock at the door and I got up to answer. I looked over at Justin and he had fallen asleep. I answered the door to see Amy and Brandon.

I left the door and headed to my room. I picked up Jai's backpack and gently picked him up and he laid his head on my shoulder. I held Oscar in my other hand and headed back to the door. I kissed him on the side of his head and Amy took him from me

"I still get him tomorrow and Saturday" I say

"Yeah you do and even if I didn't he would throw a fit unless i let him come see you" she says

"Ha sounds like Justin" I say as I kissed his head one more time and they left.

"Does that mean you're picking him up from school or is she dropping him off?" Derek asks me

"I'm pretty sure she's dropping him off she gets off work at three so yeah" I say

The Next Day

Derek's pov

Well I'm in class with Aspen and Alex along with Linis and Josh.

"Hey man so hows Justin?" Aspen whispered to me since today is the first day of exams and we have the rest next week

"He's okay he's in gym right he's just he was off his meds and now he's back on them" I whisper back

"Oh okay well how are things going with Jase and his son?" He whisper asks me

"They're going great" I whisper as the bell rang we grabbed our stuff and headed out the door.

"Jason! No! Stop it he isn't worth it!" I hear someone yell

"That sounded like Justin" Aspen says

"Hey Will what's going on?" I ask him as we head in the direction of the yelling

"Justin was being cornered somewhere with Hunter and Jason saw and now he's gonna kick his ass" he tells us

"Oh my god" I say taking off to catch up with my brothers. The Truth is I know that Jase really cares for us both, but I know him and I both can take it a bit too far sometimes.

Once I caught up with the both of them Jason had already pinned Hunter to the wall.

"Jase please he isn't worth it just stop I know that you're just taking up for me and I appreciate it and it means a lot, but he isn't worth it" Justin says as Jason looked back and forth between the two of them.

"Fine then" Jason says kneeing him and watching him hit the floor. Jase left out the doors to the school and I looked at Justin.

"Do you think that Jai is gonna turn out like Jason?" I ask Justin

"To be honest I hope not" he says as we leave the school Justin rode with me this morning so we headed to my car. As we got in Chandler walked up to Justin's side of the car

"Hey uh Jasper is looking for you" he tells him

"Oh thanks so uh how you been?" Justin asks him

"I've been alright just miss hanging with you that's all, but uh I thought I would let you know that he's looking for you" he tells him and walks off

Justin leaned back in the seat while covering his face with his hands.

"Hey everything's gonna be alright let's just get home so we can hang with Jai and see if Jase is alright" I say as we buckled up. I pulled out and headed down the street. On the way we listened to the radio and Justin just stared out the window.
