Chapter 25

Derek's pov

So we're all at the house. Jason is asleep with Jai in his room. Lucas is chilling with Justin and me in the living room. We're just watching tv and having a small conversation.

"Do either one of you know what time Jase got home?" I ask them

"Nope" Justin says as he stared at the tv

"Alright" I say

"He got here an hour ago I got here ten minutes after he did. When I walked in his room I saw him asleep with Jai" Lucas tells me

"Oh alright well what do you two wanna do till they wake up?" I ask them

"Oh I don't know" Justin says

"Look I don't know what's gotten into you, but you need to drop the attitude now because none of us have done anything to you. All we've done is try to be here for you and all you've done is push us away" I say getting up and heading to my room. I closed the door and sat down in my game chair. I grabbed my controller and decided to play some gta.

While I played that I listened to some music and I couldn't concentrate. I tossed my controller on my bed and headed out to the backyard. I put a tire swing back here so I went and got in it. I swung back and forth with my head resting on the tire. I stared out into the woods and blew out an unexpected breath.

"Der" I turned my head to see Justin. I didn't say anything I just turned back around

"I'm sorry I just didn't have a great night last night. I went out and ran into some people and today I asked Linis if he could get me some stuff to clear my mind and calm my nerves down and I'm sorry I went off on you and Jase today at school" he says

I didn't know what to say. This is the first time he's opened up to me in months.

"I get it it's fine" I quietly say as I swung back and forth

I heard footsteps fading and I took a deep breath in and let it out slowly. I heard a horn honk and I got out of the tire swing. I walked around the front of the house and I couldn't believe my eyes. I can't believe she's actually here and that I'm actually looking at her.

"M-mom?" I ask

"It's me baby" she says holding her arms out I walked up to her and she pulled me into her arms. I took in her scent and I smiled to myself because I was actually hugging the woman who gave me life.

"I can't believe you're really here momma" I say as I look down at her

"Well I am baby where are the boys?" She asks me

"In the house" I tell her as we head inside. When we got through the door Justin was standing in front of the tv holding an Xbox controller.

"Hey baby" Mom says when Justin turned around his mouth fell open and he dropped his controller and ran up to her. He's still like four inches taller than her.

"Oh my god you're home you're really home" he says as tears left his eyes. He held her like he never wanted to let her go.

"Yeah baby I'm home I'm really home I came home to see you graduate" she tells us

"Where's Jason?" She asks us

"He's asleep and he has a uh really big surprise for you" Justin tells her

"Well whatever it is I bet it's great" she says then she heard-

"Daddy! Daddy! Wake up!"

"Daddy! Wake up so we can have fun!" Jai says as we hear giggling

"Ah! Come here I'm gonna catch you!" We hear Jason say as he headed this way when Jason caught him he lifted him up and tickled him while giving him kisses all over his face.

When he looked up he saw us standing next our mom.

"M-mo-Mom" He says

"Yeah it's me and the boys told me that you have a surprise for me" she says

"Uh yeah I do this little guy right here is your grandson Jai this is your grandma" he says

"What? When did this happen?" She asks him

"Five years ago" he says with Jai in his arms

"Five years ago? You mean to tell me that you've been a teenage father for the past five years?" She asks him

"Technically no I didn't find out that I was a father until like four or five months ago" he says

"Are you mad at my daddy?" Jai asks her

"No I'm not mad at him I just wish he would have told me sooner" she tells him

Jai looked at Jason and back at mom.

"So uh why are you back?" Jason asks her

"I'm here to see the three of you graduate" she tells him

"Oh alright well uh Jai baby why don't you go back in the room and find a movie for us to watch with Lucas" Jason says as he kissed his cheek and put him down. Jai took off and Jase looked at mom.

"So that's the only reason why you're back?" He asks her

"No I'm also here to tell you that after you graduate you'll be coming back to California with me" she says

"Oh your joking right? Please tell me this is a joke mom I can't move my son is here my life is here in Canada with Lucas" Jason says to her

"I'm sorry but you three said that after you graduate you'd come to California" she says

"Derek said that we never said that we would" Jason said referring to Justin and himself. He walked off and went back to his room. We heard the door shut and we looked at our mom.

"Anyway I just wanted to stop by and let you know that I was back" she says pulling her keys out

"Mom don't leave stay get to know Jai" Justin says as she looked at him

"Oh I don't know Jay" she says

"Please momma" He says giving her the famous Bieber puppy eyes.

"Alright fine" she says

Jason, Jai, Lucas get out here!" I yell

We heard the door open and we saw Jai run in here and up to me I picked him up and he looked at my mom.

"What now?" Jason asks us

"We convinced mom to stay and get to know Jai" Justin tells him

"Why? It's not like she cares" he says

"I do care Jase it's just a lot to take in. I can't believe I'm a grandma" she says looking at Jai

"Hi" he says waving his tiny hand

"Hi Jai" she says

"It's nice to meet you grandma" he says

"It's nice to meet you sweetheart" she says I looked at Jason to see him roll his eyes and Lucas pinched him.

"Ow what'd you do that for?" Jason asked him while rubbing his arm

"Be nice you should be happy to see your mom Jason she won't be here one day and the last thing you're gonna remember is how you treated her before she passes away" Lucas tells him

"why do you say that?" He asks him

"Cause my mom died two years ago and I regret the last thing I said to her before she died" he tells him

"Oh" he says

"Yeah baby so take care of your mom and cherish her before it's too late" Lucas tells him as he laced his fingers through his. Jason looked at him and gave him a small smile and pecked his lips.
