my body is encased
with tinted glass.
the world can't see in
but I can see out.
this is the only way
I survive.
I am a fire hazard;
the world is gasoline.

I burn hotter than the sun
when summer rolls around.
the feburary heat
may be hot enough
to ignite the ground
I walk on,
but I am a fire hazard,
so proceed with caution.

death sits on my shoulders
like bird perched on a ledge.
if the temperature is high enough,
the glass surrounding me will burn
and leave me with nothing.
the same way
this world
has left me with empty palms
and a cold, lifeless heart.
I am a fire hazard
and even the ice
crawling across my flesh
refuses to melt.

find me in a cage
where the sun
meets the sea.
the only thing
that can stop me
from blazing a path
all the way
to the edge of the world
are the ocean waves
before me.
I am a fire hazard
with fuses for hands.

humans are vengeful beings.
we twist our darkness
into something tangible
and wield weapons
we're not meant to.
I've burnt myself
one too many times
on my own flames
not to be a danger
to every person I meet.
I am a fire hazard
and the world falls
at my feet.

not only does the tinted glass
protect me from them,
but it also protects them
from me.
the can't see just how dangerous
I really am.
and I can always see
when they get too close.
I am a fire hazard
and I have everything
to lose.
