"Sir, here he is." An Anbu said as he held six-year-old Naruto by the collar while the boy glared daggers at the Anbu, who had dragged him from his home.

"Ah, thank you." Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Third Hokage and the longest reigning Hokage in history. He had the traditional Hokage robes on with the red hat with the Fire insignia on it. He was old and wrinkled, but his eyes were bright that held years upon years of knowledge. He turned his watchful eye to Naruto as the Anbu left.

"Hey old man," Naruto greeted as he walked forward, plopping down in the chair in front of the Hokage's desk. "Whaddya want?" Hiruzen kept a straight face as he looked at the child in front of him, noticing that the previous sparkle that once showed in his sky blue eyes were now gone, replaced with a dullness that only should be seen in the deep sea.

"I want you to answer a question for me." Naruto nodded, meeting the Hokage's brown eyes unfearfully. "Why did you steal from multiple shops earlier today and injure some of the shop owners when they tried to stop you?" Naruto shrugged.

"They deserved it and I have the power to do so." Hiruzen narrowed his eyebrows at the statement.

"And how on earth did they deserve it, Naruto?" He asked, a bit of steel in his voice that Naruto has never heard before.

"They're mean to me. All of the villagers, ninjas, and civilians alike. I'm tired of letting them talk to me like that, refusing to serve me even if I offered to pay extra, they're all trash, every single last one of them!" He said venomously, glaring at the village that could be seen from the transparent windows that were behind the Hokage desk where Sarutobi sat.

"Naruto!" He shouted, startling the blonde. "You cannot call the villagers trash! They are what makes this village and when you say something like that you are basically committing treason!" Naruto was shocked to hear those words come out of Sarutobi's mouth. He was the only person he was ever really close to, and now to see him taking their side, without even addressing his complaints... .it was just wrong.

"Old man?" He whispered, shock and betrayal evident in his voice. He got out of the chair and took a few steps back.

"If I find out that you assault another villager, Naruto Uzumaki, mark my words you will be punished!" He said, glaring at Naruto who was basically pressed up against the door now, tears streaming down his face, his breathing quickening.

"Old man," He whispered, his voice choking up. "How could you, why, I don't. . ." He trailed off before he glared at Hiruzen, his eyes no longer blue but a bright red, his pupils now turned to sharp lines that went straight down the middle. "I hate you!" He then dashed out the door, leaving a shocked and slightly fearful Hiruzen in his office.

"Has the Kyuubi loosened the seal?" He muttered to himself as he began writing a letter to Jiraiya.

He needed to know what was going down.

Naruto stormed through the village, anger being his very being.

How could the old man betray him like this? Why would he say those things and refuse to listen to him? He shook his head, glaring at everyone and everything.

It didn't matter. Why would it matter?

The six-year-old was diving into a dark place, and it wouldn't get any better from there.

Flashback

"Am I being adopted?" Naruto shouted in excitement as he looked at the person who owned the orphanage, his bright blue eyes shining at the widow before him. She gave the boy a fake smile, hiding the disgust that was well hidden in her eyes.
