I have a window into the heart of a man
A man who doesn't show how he feels inside.
I have a window into where he hurts, where he cries, where he rejoices
The very places he hides from everyone else.
And because I have this window, I feel his emotions
And not only do I feel his emotions, I have to deal with them
And not deal with them out of annoyance, but because I care about him.
And not because I love him like a boyfriend, but because I love him like a brother
and he is my friend.
I have to pick up the pieces of a shattered heart
and try my best to stick them back together
although I can never really get those tiny fragments that have turned to everything, but dust
I have to cut my fingers to make sure he's okay
and he makes it through whatever.
A guy may not show his emotions, but they're there
Locked up in a tower, unreachable to all, but those he lets climb up
You may think he's perfectly fine, but the person who can look into the tower knows different
A man has a heart, just like a woman, just like anyone.
Respect that.
