Xavier's POV
My mind didn't seem to be able to focus right now, and believe me I was trying. I had a few scouts in my "war room" as I like to call it. It's filled with large maps of North America, and all the different packs that reside here. The room itself was dark and large, having a bit of a mysterious ora to it.
Laid out on the large mahogany wood table, were strategies and population counts that I use every time I make an attack.
Currently I was "trying" to focus on the scouts as they talked about the Shadow Creek's borders. My blue eyes narrowed down onto the paper, showing me a map of their land and where my rouges would be attacking.
Yet still, as the scouts continued to babble, my mind drifted to thoughts of my mate. I so badly wanted to see her human form, to know what she looked like. Ever since I was little, I always dreamed of what my mate would be like when I found her, and I finally have her.
Just the thought of her made my body shiver with need. My wolf was going crazy in my head, telling me to mark her as ours, but I had to fight the urge.
It was natural for mates to mark each other, a strong bond that officially claimed them as each other's.
I closed my eyes, breathing deeply so I wouldn't think about the way my poor mate had looked after fighting what used to be my beta.....
My thoughts were cut short by the sound of shattering glass that came from upstairs. Instantly all the rouges in my room grew quiet, all of our ears straining as we ran to the one large window on the opposite wall.
Pulling the curtains aside, my eyes widened as they fell onto my mates form. She crashed into the ground, but surprisingly kept her balance as she landed on all paws and immediately took off, running across the ground like her life depended on it.
Instantly I growled harshly, making the rest of the rouges in the room turn towards me in fright. My mate was running from me, and my inner wolf did not like that!
I clenched my hands at my sides, my eyes narrowing dangerously as I ran out of the room.
Without worrying to take off my clothes I shifted, not caring as they shredded from my growing body. As soon as my large black paws landed instead of feet, I sprinted outside, my breath getting faster as I once more caught the feminine scent of my mate.
My heart pounded in my chest as a sudden burst of adrenaline pumped through my body. Finally I would meet my mate!
As soon as I rounded the building, I found her surrounded by the three rouges on guard.
All of them were communicating through our link, deciding what to do with her. Instantly I let out a ferocious growl, anger rolling through me as I stalked their way.
My mates head turned at the sound of my growl, and a bit of pride ran trough me. She knew my voice, and I could feel a deep purr vibrate in my chest with happiness.
My eyes seemed to swallow her up. She was well sized, larger than other pack wolfs, even for a female. I could see the obvious lean muscle in her. She looked like she was built to run, her long legs holding her up, tall and proud. But her dirty white fur made me frown, especially when I saw the blood. She still had Tyler's scent on her.... Some of that had to be his blood.
I looked up to her face to find her beautiful icy blue eyes.
They watched me cautiously, but at the same time, I saw an emotion burn deep in them. She seemed to be stuck in a trance as she watched me right back, her body stance defensive, but her ears pointed forward in a curious state.
If I were in my human form I would have smirked with pride. My mate was gorgeous, and from the way she held her self and didn't back down as I neared, I knew she was of Alpha blood.
I admit, I was a bit surprised that she didn't cower back. Every wolf I've ever met has always cowered before me, after all, I was The Alpha of all rouges, my name was well known. Her bravery attracted me even more.
I couldn't stop myself from getting closer to her, the pull was too strong.
My wolfs conscious was going crazy, telling me to run to her and mark her then and there, but I knew I wouldn't, not in front of these other wolves.
My eyes quickly shifted to them, and I gave them a flick with my tail, telling them to back down. Instantly they listened to my command.
As soon as they did I once more turned back to my mate, realizing we were now a few feet apart. She looked up at me, her face open and excited.
Suddenly I couldn't hold back my inner wolf and he took over, making me take the extra step towards her so my nose was practically touching hers as I said very deeply, "Mine".
