Hello readers! I'm so sorry I haven't updated in awhile, life's just been really busy and crazy that I haven't had time to update, but now I'm back and ready to put this story into gear! :)

First off I just wanted to thank you guys so much for reading my new novel. It makes me happy to know others are enjoying my writing. You guys are the best!

Xavier's POV

"I'm not anybody's, and definitely not yours!"

Her words kept playing over and over in my head, only making my inner wolf go crazy in anger.

She is ours! My wolf exclaimed, trying to take over my body as I circled my mate.

It was hard to say no to my own wolf when he and I had the same thoughts.

All I wanted to do was get her to trust me, but from the way her fur was bristled and her eyes glared, I knew that wouldn't be happening anytime soon. I had to do something to get her to be mine.

My wolf purred with happiness at the thought, and I couldn't help but stare my mate straight in the eye as I said, "you'll always be mine."

Her hackles raised suddenly, her jaws snapping at my demand as her dark blue eyes narrowed in on me.

I felt my chest burn from the way she looked at me with hatred, and I didn't like it one bit.

Snarling harshly as I felt the anger roll over me, I lunged right at her, making her stumble back as I advanced with menacing steps.

For a moment her eyes flickered to the forest off to my right, but once I growled again her gaze snapped back onto me.

I hated that she wasn't accepting me. No one ever told me no, and I wasn't going to let her get away with that.

"You have to put her in her place!" Growled my inner wolf, his thoughts taking over my own. I nodded to his words, my eyes narrowing on her as I stared down at my mate.

I could see her eyes dancing back and forth between me and the forest as I got closer, an untold emotion playing in the dark depths of her eyes.

For a moment I paused, unsure of what was catching her gaze. She should be paying attention to me!

I growled loudly making the rouges standing by flinch at my harsh tone.

Not bothering to look at them, I turned towards the forest for the slightest moment to see what she was looking at, only to find the rich green forest as it normally was.

Confused, I turned back to her, just as she bolted past me.

Instantly I felt the slap of rejection, and it hit me straight in the face.

A deep rumble made it way from my chest and into the air, seeming to shake the ground.

Instantly I jumped into action, signaling for the few rouges standing on the lawn to follow me as we gave chase.

My mate was smart, I would give her that. I could already see her dirty white pelt disappearing through the trees.

I gritted my teeth in annoyance as I sprinted was after her, my strides lengthening as I followed her delicious scent.

I knew we would find her, she was injured after all. Plus I would always be able to smell and track her.

Since both of us were Alphas, our mate bond was stronger than others. I could practically feel which way she went.

As adrenaline pumped through my body, I could feel my heart rate rising more and more. An almost cheerful wave of feelings ran through me. I knew that my inner wolf was enjoying the chase. He seemed to be counting down the seconds to when we would catch her.

As I sprinted, crashing through the undergrowth, I let out a loud and thunderous howl, signaling to my mate that I would find her, and when I did, she was going to pay.

I know this chapter was a little shorter, but don't worry. This is just leading up to the next one, which I promise will be packed full of surprises and action. ;)
