I sit next to Esemais.
"When I graduate school I'm going to change my name to Esimay. I think it sounds much prettier," she whispers to me.
"I agree," I whisper back, "if you want I can call you that now."
"I'd like that."

I don't focus at all on what the teacher is saying. I puzzle over the black and white cat. I can't understand why he was looking around like he was confused. Is he autistic? Dose he have some mental disorder? That can't be it. He seemed pretty able to understand me. Why was he scowling? Was he having a bad day? How did he get that wound? These aren't the only questions I wonder; there are only too much questions to write.

Our class stands outside. We aren't going to 'bond with nature' like Mrs. Yum-Yum said before we went outside. We are going to practice creating lightning and thunder. For obvious reasons we can't practice this type of magic inside.
"First create your clouds," says Mr. Rehtaew - my teacher.
"Um," I say, "Mr. Re-Rehtaew?"
"Yes," he states calmly.
"I don't know how to create a cloud."
He frowns. "You don't?" He asks.
"No, I don't."
"Huh. I thought you were home schooled."
"I was. My mom was just... um... more focused on teaching me history," that was a lie.
"What's a way to explain it?" He asks, looking at my classmates, "think of it this way. Imagine the particles in the air. The wet water molecules. Imagine moving them closer together, not to close or your cloud will rain, not to far apart or your cloud will look more like mist, fog, or not appear visible at all."
I nod. I'm not sure I can do that, I think.
Mrs. Yum-Yum's words come back to me. 'I have seen mer cat dragon students come up to the shore and create steam and fog from the water. It is possible to create a cloud from water; clouds after all are made of water.'
I concentrate, doing as Mr. Rehtaew said. Mist starts to form above me. I concentrate harder. The fog turns to a cloud. I will it to stay in its current position. I did it, I think, feeling astonishment.
The cloud starts to rain. Thunder crackling wildly. All the drops stop inches form my fur and stay there, almost as if there is an invisible force field keeping them there. The droplets connect together, creating one big flying water bubble. I've never held that much water before, I realize.
Starting to get tired of magically holding water, I urge it away from me and slowly and gentlely set the liquid on the ground.
Everyone stares at me.
"How did you do that?" Asks Ned.
