- Brittney -

Flying across the sky with as much talent as my flying teacher Mrs. Clarin I spot a running figure. It is hard to tell it's coloring in the dark, although I can tell it has lots of white or at least some really bright grey on it.

Silently like the wind, I follow it.

It runs underneath a small grove of trees. I can no longer see it. I fly to the ground, hiding in clumps of grass and weeds as I sneak after the creature.

- Ocean -

I smell the small kitten dragon even before I see her.

"Leave me alone," I say without turning.

"Who says there is someone here?"

"Your smell, and not to mention your voice."

Finally I look at her. She is the same orange kitten that said to me "you really should have that looked at" that memory seems so long ago.

"Why do you always scowl at me like that?" She asks.

"I 'scowl' at you?"

"Um... yeah! Don't you realize when you glare at people?"

"No. Why would I?"

"I don't know. Maybe you could... I guess... be happy?"

I sigh. "Why would I 'be happy' when Flerae hasn't been in favor with me recently?"

She shrugs.

"You could at least pretend you are happy."

I don't answer to that.

My stomach rumbles. I am hungry, I realize.

Feeling groggy and sluggish - I name the sensation lallish - I wonder over in the direction of a large winged mouse - a nosumdarugo. I slowly stalk it. I lunge, only to find it escapes my grasp.

"You're not very good at hunting," says the kitten dragon bluntly.

"Thank you for noticing," I say grumpily.

Sniffing the air I smell water; a stream. Won't help. I smell the air some more.

I slowly walk towards a small river. It is teeming with fish. I easily snatch one up and eat it hungrily.

The kitten dragon watches, astonishment on her face. "How did you do that? Catch it, I mean."

"Want to see something that would astonish anyone?" I ask.

She nods.

I jump into the river. She screams.

I swim to the surface, my otter-like' fur hardly even damp. I breathe in the fresh air, enjoying it.

She is still screaming. "Calm down!" I say, "I'm okay!"

Now it is quiet; the only sounds are the forest. Birds are singing, leaves rustling, the river swaying.

"Do you swim often?" The kitten dragon wonders.

Shrugging my shoulders, I say "yeah."

Not knowing why I trust her, I lift up my tail.

She gasps. "You're a mer cat dragon!"

Finally she gets it. Why did I show her anyways? I guess I'm probably lonely.

"Why don't you have gills?" She asks.

"Mutation."

"Why did I see you in the school? There aren't any mer cat classes in the school, it is after all above water."

"True, but there are weather cat dragon classes. Weathers are not as different from mers as you think."

"Why didn't you go to the mer cat dragon school?"

"It's on the bottom of the thirdy-foot lake, duh."

"Oh, right," again, silence.

"Three with disabilities; three with abilities. They will live with untold lies, they will live with lies to be remembered," I hear her mutter under her breathe.
