Wash had come up with a several ways to keep his cats hidden in his room.

They hid under his bed, in his closet, and in just about anything to avoid detection. And so far he had managed to keep them safely hidden.

Or you know, they were safely hidden, until they got out.

He wouldn't have known if Caboose hadn't found one of his cats sitting on a pack of crayons.

And of course, when he hurried to his room to check, they were gone. Every single one of his cats were gone.

But for the rest of the day, no other cats were found. It didn't help that he had taught them to be quiet during the day.

The next time a cat was found, it had discovered Tucker asleep on the couch, and had apparently decided to take a nap on his face. How Tucker hadn't woken up when a cat was on his face was beyond him.

He carefully picked it up and put it back in his room.

However, at some point during the night, EVERY SINGLE CAT had come out.

There were cats in every bedroom, in the kitchen, in the living room, they were even in the bathroom.

"What. The. Fuck."

He turned around to see Tucker standing in the doorway to the kitchen.

"Why do I get the feeling this is your fault?" He asked, one eyebrow raised at Wash.

"Ummmm......."

Wash was saved from answering by a very excited Caboose running into the room.

"Kitties!"

The blue private then ran to each individual cat, looking at the names or each cat's collar.

"Tucker! Look at this one!" Caboose was holding one of Wash's favorite cats, Epsilon. And the blue/gray cat did not look very happy at being held.

Tucker and Caboose continued to look at each cat. Most of them named after freelancers or AI.

"So, Wash. Why'd you hide them?" Tucker asked from the floor, where he was petting Theta.

"I thought you might not like them."

"Well, this wasn't the best way to find out."

"What are you going to do about them?"

"Huh? Nothing. As long as they can stay out in the open." Tucker said with a grin on his face.

"Of course they can. They were getting bored anyway."

That night, everyone had a cat asleep with them.

But Tucker will probably be upset when he realizes just how much like the freelancers the cats act. At least this Wyoming can't tell knock knock jokes.
