song of the chapter:
heart attack~flight facilities

"so, you're ignoring me." a confident voice pulled taeyong's attention from his textbook.

"not particularly, you're just not one of my priorities." taeyong admitted half honestly.

because jaehyun was a priority but taeyong didn't exactly mean to ignore him. he just didn't know how to act. taeyong never felt this way. no one had impressed him like jaehyun. no one had even come close. but jaehyun, he made taeyong feel the weirdest way.

he felt nauseous when jaehyun looked at him with those bright, puppy eyes and needless to say, it was unsettling. it was cognitive dissonance a disruption between what he said, and what he felt.

"ah, so we are back to being hostile? does this have anything to do with what i overheard? i thought we were over that? it was weeks ago." jaehyun smiled, seemingly undefeated.

taeyong blushed and wanted to stuff his face into his textbook and shut it closed. of course, he was ignoring jaehyun because of what he heard. but taeyong knew that he already knew that and it was even more embarrassing. taeyong didn't want to admit that he was starting to become attached to jaehyun. their "emotionless" make out sessions, them eating lunch together in the basement, jaehyun buying him a coffee every single morning, and jaehyun teaching him new sutures on fruits.

maybe them wanting it to be so unemotional made it, well, emotional.

as expected from him, he quickly packed his bag, excited to go home after the close of his long shift. if it weren't for jaehyun, he probably would've spent a couple more hours studying and practicing his suturing. but clearly that wasn't going to happen.

"well i came to tell you that no one is leaving the hospital. the storm is picking up and there's no way in hell that i'm letting you drive in these conditions. plus the more hands we have prepared, the better. i'm sure the emergency room is going to be overflowing." jaehyun answered.

taeyong nodded softly, feeling a warmth spread through his chest when he saw how jaehyun came to the basement to warn him specifically. he zipped up his bag, heading to the door but pausing as his hands touched the handle.

he turned back around walking toward an intrigued jaehyun. he rose to his tippy toes, placing a soft peck on his lips and smiling. taeyong looked up to jaehyun eyes, being significantly smaller and shorter than him.

"thanks for worrying about me. i'm going to get coat and stethoscope from my locker. i'll meet you in the emergency room?" taeyong finally said softly.

"yeah, i'll see you up there." jaehyun blushed, before pulling up taeyong's cheeks softly to place another kiss on his lips.

feeling over the moon, both jaehyun and taeyong went their separate ways. happy but incredibly confused. what were they? were they hooking up? were they friends? were they friends with benefits? were they a couple? pathetically and ironically enough, neither of them could answer that.

taeyong quickly made it up to the intern lounge, rustling with the locker to pull out the rest of his uniform. he swung on his white coat and set his set his stethoscope around his neck, shifting his locker with his bag closed.
