song of the chapter:
fools ~ jungkook & rap monster

taeyong heard the ding of the elevator followed by it's loud doors drawing open. he took that moment to wipe the tears that plagued his cheeks.

he wasn't crying because he was so incredibly in love with jaehyun. that would be beyond pathetic. he was crying because jaehyun had won. and taeyong had always been a hell of a sore loser.

taeyong let out a bitter laugh at the realization of just how deceitful jaehyun was. my god, did he underestimate him. taeyong wondered how long jaehyun was going to play along. did he want to humiliate him, show him how nobody could possibly not want jung jaehyun.

taeyong's legs paused for a moment after walking for an unknown time to an unknown destination. his hands reached into his pocket to pull out his slick black i-phone that he had purchased not so long ago once he had received his pay check for the week.

his finger hovered over a contact, but then quickly scrolled to another and typed on it before he gave himself the chance to call jaehyun.

"hello?" the voice said.

"hey lucas, it's taeyong, are you working today?" taeyong asked through the phone.

"taeyong hey! yeah, i have your context saved and no, i'm not on call until monday, why?" lucas answered.

"well i need to get drunk and i wanted to know if you wanted to join me." taeyong laughed into the phone doing what hurt taeyong always does, ignore it.

"hell yeah, let's throw a fucking party at my house. it's friday, of course i want to get blackout drunk." he proposed.

"sounds like a plan." taeyong agreed, just wanting to get drunk enough to not feel the sinking feeling in the pit of his stomach.

"i'll text you my address, come over so we can prep for the party! see ya!" lucas demanded, hanging up as soon as he answered.

within a couple seconds, taeyong's phone buzzed with lucas' address to which he quickly plugged into google maps. it wasn't too far thankfully, so he sucked up the feeling of wanting to cry and kept walking.

taeyong was genuinely surprised to be met with an actual decent house instead of the run down apartment complex that he was expecting. he walked up to the door, knocking a couple of times before being met with a smiling lucas.

"what's up broooo!" he picked up taeyong into a tight hug, squeezing the air out of him.

"for a homo, you act way too hetero." taeyong giggled, accepting the warm hug.

it felt nice to be held in a genuine friendly hug. now that taeyong thought about it, he hadn't been hugged in the longest time by anyone that wasn't a romantic interest. he knew he had just met lucas not too long ago but lucas was just that overly kind touchy friend that wasn't afraid to show his affection.

"yongie!" he heard a familiar voice shriek.

"jungwoo!" taeyong answered, letting his childish, carefree side out.
