Liam and Jamie
POV: Jamie
————————
I looked at the treacherous paper in front of me. I had to be a part of this. In life, sometimes, you had to kiss ass to get what you want. And I was trying to kiss my coach's ass to be a starter on our soccer team. In order to be a starter on the soccer team in the spring season, I had to be the manager of the boys soccer team so I could be in coats with Coach Steven.
It's just like 17 games Jamie. Maybe you can learn something. From who? Boys? Oh hell the fuck no. Anyway, I picked the paper off the wall and memorized the content of it.
Boys Soccer Manager Needed!
Room 147...See Coach Stevens

After I read it, I was off my feet, trying to find Coach Stevens. As I approached his office, I saw through the window that he wasn't there. Where else would he be? Outside.
I walked outside and saw the soccer boys. Coach Stevens was on the sidelines, directing the players.
"Jamie!" Coach smiles at me, he was talking to a player of his, who was really cute.
"Hey Coach," I give a small smile, "I just was going to see you to ask to be the manager of the boys team."
Coach Stevens' eyes widen. "Of course, we would love you to be on the team!"
"Great,"
"Give me a second Colton," Coach looks over to me, "I gotta tell her what to do."
"Alright," Colton walks back onto the field.
"So Jamie," he said, "today we are practicing shooting,"
"All you have to do is retrieve the balls if they go out of bounds."
I went up about 35 feet from the goal, my destination was suppose to be past the out of bounds line. But I stop and see pretty boy in the goal, saving a few kicks. His tall and pleasant figure made me mesmerized and for a second, I was in a blank world.
"You staring at Colton?" a kid I knew from soccer camp, Liam, smirked at me.
Surprised, I give him a glaring and brooding look.
"Personally, I know short brunettes aren't his type," he paused, "but that's my type, especially girls who play soccer." He winked at me.
I start to roll my eyes. "Personally, guys who act like nine year olds aren't my type."
Liam puts his hand to his heart, as if he was insulted. "Suit yourself, Princess," He walks away, ready to shoot a goal.
I walk closer to the goal to try to retrieve the balls. I lock eyes with the goalie, Colton. He gives me a soft smile before getting plummeted in the head by a soccer ball, shot by Liam.
"Hey pretty boy," he laughs, "focus on fucking soccer."
Colton then shakes the dust off his pants and gives Liam an uneasy look. It seemed like these two had beef-extreme I would say.
"Not my fault your sister wasn't good enough," Colton smiles maliciously.
At this point, Liam seemed like he couldn't control himself. His face expression changed from smiles to anger. I felt bad for Liam, but I was confused. I didn't know the situation, but whatever Colt said seemed obnoxious and implausible. Liam stormed out of the line and went to the bench to sit down. Coach was confused, and at that point I knew it was serious. Even though I didn't know him that well, that didn't mean I couldn't try to comfort him.
Coach was about to go up to Liam and ask what happened, but I waved him off.
"Coach, I got this,"
With my voice, Liam knew I was approaching. He was looking down at the cement, and the unique patterns to it. He was the one who spoke the first word.
"Jamie," He furrowed his eyebrows slightly, "just please leave me the fuck alone."
The words hurt me greatly, but I knew he was just saying that.
"What's wrong?"
We were sitting side by side, and I could notice his features. He was average height, with averaged toned legs, and he looked very athletic. His hair was brown, chestnut like, styled in a quiff. He had dimples, and his eyebrows weren't thick nor too short. He had an arm wristband that said "C," which meant Captain.
He smiled after noticing I was checking him out.
"I don't know what's wrong with you?"
"What do you mean?"
"You are staring at me Jamie," he said, "Do I have something on my face?"
"N—o," I stuttered, "Hey you switched the topic."
"Fine," he muttered, "Colton just pissed me off."
"Why?" I ask.
"I don't want to fucking talk about it."
"You are just probably overreacting," I suggest.
"Jamie—"
"You may be like me, you know I'm really sensitive to some things..."
"Colton took advantage of my older sister, a senior, and cheated on her like 6 times."
And that's when it all clicked in my head.
"That is what he meant by, "It's not my fault she wasn't good enough." Tears start to build in his eyes.
"And it's been hard to play with Colton," he struggles to continue talking, "but I love this fucking sport, and honestly it's the only thing I got."
"Just don't engage with him okay," I advise Liam, "you guys don't have to be friends after this, okay?"
Liam tries to change his frown into a smile.
"I'll try, Jamie, I'll try."
