The One and Only

Chapter 5

                                             Cameron's Point Of View

          I sit there in front of the window and Kyliegh's been in the bathroom for a while now. I'm wondering what had happened to her. Usually, if I compel someone, they never leave my side unless I tell them to. Finally, she leaves the bathroom and she sounds like she sits on the bed. Then I hear her sigh. I look over at her and see her laying there. Her shirt rises a little bit. I can see her tanned, flat stomach. She looks at me and I look at her. There's something different here. Usually, I can tell when human's are compelled. It's nothing like this. Her eyes look scared and she looks like she's aware of everything. "it didn't work on you..." I say softly. She looks at me oddly "What?.." "You're not human?.." I mumble. I stand up and the bed shifts "What do you mean 'I'm not Human'?" she says. I walk into the little kitchen and reach into my pocket. I grab a pocket knife that my brother has gave me before he died. I open up the sharp blade and look at her. I can see the sudden fear in her eyes. If she catches this blade... She's the one... I grab the tip of the knife and pull my hand back, past my head. "Whoa... What are you doing?" She says with her voice filled with fear. I throw the knife at her head and she closes her eyes. She raises her hand up and the knife stops in mid air. I suck in a deep breath and say "Open your eyes.." She slowly opens her eyes and sees the blade just inches from her eye. She lowers her hand and the blade drops to the ground with a thud. She's the one... The only one of her kind... I thought the last witch of her kind was killed in a fire. She looks down at the knife and then to me "You threw a knife at me!" She says with anger filling her voice. "But you stopped it..." I reply. She begins walking towards me and I can see the fiery in her eyes "First you feed off me.. then you throw a KNIFE at me?!" I go to say something but I hear a voice. A female voice saying," I can smell her... She must be here. Urik, check all the rooms on that side. I'll take this side." I look at Kyleigh, "There's someone here... We have to go. " I run to the window and I see a woman with red straight hair and a male with black short hair. The woman wears a tight red leather jacket zipped up half way and there's a black tank top underneath. She wears tight black skinny jeans. I turn to Kyleigh who is staring at the knife. I pick up the knife, close it and place it in my pocket. I take Kyliegh's hand and look out the window. We have to find a way out. Kyleigh says "What are we going to do, now?" My heart pounds a mile a minute. Her hand is soft and warm. Stop it Cam... You need to focus.. I see the woman walk over to a room and the male is no where to be found. Perhaps he's in a room. Alright... I turn to Kyleigh and say "Alright.. You have to be very quiet. Follow me." I go to the door and quietly open the door. We slowly run out the door.

       "Urik! They are running!!" The female says. Great! She saw us! "Go! Go Go Go!" I yell Kyleigh as I let go of her hand. "Run. I'll hold them off and I will find you when I'm done. Go!" She runs off into the woods and Urik, I think that's his name, charges into me. He hisses and the girl runs towards Kyleigh. I kick him off and I run to the girl. I swipe my leg under her feet and she slams to the ground. I grab the knife and I climb on top of the girl. I place the blade on her neck. She pants and looks me in the eye "Ah.... Cameron.. You don't want to girl an innocent, poor girl, do you?..." She plumps up her bottom lip. I pant and say "Innocent.. Ha.... yeah right..." I hear shuffling and I get off her. I pull her up with her arm and place the blade on her throw "One more step, she's dead." I look at Urik and he stops. I move my mouth close to her ear, "Do you have a name?" She stands there and I bend her arm up on her back. She groans in pain. "Name?" I ask more sternly. "Noel... " She pants "Noel.. is... my name.." I smile and pull her head up to me so she can look at me "Noel... Such a pretty name for an ugly personality." I push the blade on her neck and I look at Urik then at her "You will turn around and walk away. You will leave the girl alone.. Got it?" She nods and I push her away. I turn and start walking towards the way Kyleigh ran. I hear a hiss and I get trampled on. I land on the ground with a grunt. I turn and see Urik over me again. My heart pounds and I thrust my fist into his face. He grabs something from his pocket. He takes it out and it is a syringe with some liquid in it. I grab his wrist but he thrusts it into my neck. Soon.... It becomes dark. Its all black..

       I wake up in a room that is dark. I look around and I'm on the ground. I pull on my hands but it burns. I groan in pain. The rope is laced with Vervain. I look around and the room. I see a silhouette. "Wh-Where... am I?" I say quietly. "You're no where..." Says the other person. It's a female's voice. It has to be Noel. She turns on the light and I close my eyes. Pain shoots through my head. "I heard that vervain weaken's a vampire and if you take so much of it... You black out and when you wake up..." She moves around the room. Soon she's right in front of me "It hurts your head like ten thousand knives jam into your temples and your brain." I open my eyes and look up at her "Wh-Why... Why are you doing this?" She crouches down to my level and says "Where's the girl?" I sigh and look down. Somewhere safe I hope... Noel smacks my head and I groan in pain "Where's the girl?!" "I don't know!... I don't know..." I say and I bend over. I pant and stare at the ground. I don't know where Kyleigh is... I hope she's safe... I really do...
