The One and Only

Chapter 2

                                           Cameron's Point Of View 

               Darwan wanted to see me and he's in Chicago.. In some apartment building. I get there and I knock on the door. I look down the hall and I look at the other end. Darwan opens the door and I look at him. "Ah,.. Cameron, come on in." I walk through the door and look around his apartment. It's nice but a little messy. I hear the door close and I turn to him "Why did you have me come all the way to Chicago?... It better be good.." Darwan begins talking "It's urgent...Indigo is back.." My heart stops for a split second. A feeling of hatred blasts through my whole body. My muscles tense up and I utter a single word, "What?.."  Darwan nods, "yeah.. He's going to get another one... We have to stop him.. Some how." I just want to rip off his head and feed off him but if I do that... I'll also be dead... My limbs go numb from the anger and I think Darwan sees that I am. He takes a step forward and places his hand on my shoulder in a comforting motion. I pull away and look him in the eye "I don't want to hurt you.. I can't control myself right now..." His arm drops and then he nods "Alright.. but... The past is in the past...  Yes, What he did was wrong and I do believe that but you have to leave it in the past.." I sigh and nod "Alright.." I want to kill him so bad. I want him to have a slow and painful death.
             We say our goodbyes and I walk out the door. I press the button for the elevator. It opens a minute later and I press the first floor. The elevator stops at the third floor. The door opens to a beautiful young girl probably around 18 or 19 years of age. I can spell her perfume and beneath that perfume, I can spell her pulsing blood and her heart beat. She seems calm and I look at her face. Her long brown hair falls over her breast and her bright blue eyes lighten up. She smiles the most adorable smile I have ever seen in my entire existence. She walks through the open elevator doors and stands next to me. I shove my hands in my Levis, blue jeans and lean against the railing. My heart starts racing because of her being here. I take a deep breath and close my eyes. I can feel my teeth protruding through my gums. I bite my bottom lip and the elevator stops. She walks out and I follow her out. I stand there next to the elevator. She waves to an older woman behind the desk and then walks out the front door. That girl amazing... I don't know her yet but I have to know her. I walk out the front door of the apartment building and I look around. I see her get in her car and she leaves. 
           About an hour to two hours, I walk into a club called The Mid. There's a lot of people dancing, grinding, and bouncing to the blasting loud music. This is part of my training. I've got to control myself around the humans. I walk up to the bar and I look around. I order a scotch on the rocks and I sit there. I look to my right and see the same girl and she's talking to another girl with brown hair and in a pink dress. The girl in the dress keeps looking at me. I listen close and I hear "Kyleigh.. There's a guy watching you.." There's a pause then, "No.. Seriously... the guy behind you at the end of the bar. He's hot too." I shake my head and take a sip of my drink. The Burnett stands up and leaves. My phone vibrates and it's a text from Tess.. "Hey.. You've got to meet me at the wear house.. There's an emergency.." I take another sip of my drink and go to the wear house. My family except Darwan and I live in a building called the Wear house. It's place to keep safe. I've got to say, it works... Until when I got there...
           The building is all broken into.... It looks like someone was trying to destroy it. All the windows are bashed in.. All the walls had holes in it.. I see Tess, Brandi, Gregor, and Maliek standing outside. I run up to them and they are all filled with terror and fiery. "What happened here?!" I say. Gregor catches me and says "We've been attacked... by Indigo's men..." I look him in the eyes and I guess he can see what I'm going to do to him. Gregor is the eldest of us. Darwan is our father. He's turned Brandi, Gregor, Maliek and I. Tess was already turned when we found her. Gregor and I were walking in the woods and we found her against a tree. Her skin was cold, which is normal, but with a blue-ish tint to it. You can see dark blue vains all over her body. She was dying.. We had a rabbit with us and we figured to feed her that. The blood of an animal tastes disgusting but it works. We decided to bring her here, the wear house and nurse her back to health. We made her a sister. Soon after, she was one of the strongest in our family.
         I look to Tess and I could see the horror that lies beneath those hazel brown eyes with a golden ring around her dilated pupil. I sigh and think of a place. The only thing that comes to mind is an abandoned building. I tell Gregor where it's at and I look ahead. I see a strange guy watching us in the distance.  He it in a trench coat and he has short dark hair. I turn to Brandi who is behind me. I say "There's a man... Watching us... Take the others to the address.. Gregor knows where. I'll be there soon." She nods and casually takes the others away. Just as I turn, the man is sprinting at me. I use all my strength and run as fast as I could. I run through the woods and in no time, I hit a paved surface. I turn my head and see head lights. It stops right in front of me. I try to see who it is but the light is too bright. So, I turn and continue running. I get to the side of the road before I stop. I smell a familiar smell. What is it....? I look back and into the car window the girl sits there with her head on the wheel. my heart races. I sigh and run to the building. I have no clue why or how I thought of this. I guess it's because I had to pass it on the way to Darwan's apartment. I walk in and everyone is huddled together, talking. They look at me as I go in. They are safe... Finally..
