The One and Only

Chapter 3

                                         Cameron's Point Of View

            I'm walking around town, looking around and getting to know the town. That's one of my powers. I can remember things if I see it. I'll look at a shoe and I can tell you what it is, how it looks, if there are any rips or holes, I can tell you where they are and how big it is. I can close my eyes and picture it as if I'm still looking at it. I walk and I can hear faint screams. I start heading to where they are coming from. I see Indigo grabbing a girl. I see the girl's face and it's Kyleigh.. "Indigo!" I yell and I throw him off of her. He looks to me ". Well well... it is the hero trying to save the day..." I say "Leave her alone.. She's no important to you" "Ah, but she is" Indigo says. His fangs show and his eyes glow red. My hands tense up and I go to charge at him. He stands there and I push him to the wall. My elbow jabs his throat and I hold my forearm on his throat "Now, You leave her alone or... I will rip you from limb to limb and I will burn every single piece of you..It'll be a great bonfire. " I let him go and he coughs. He scrambles to his feet and he runs. I turn to Kyleigh and she's on the ground. I get a wiff of blood. I look at her knee and it's scraped. I stare at it and I can feel my fangs come out. I look away and hand her a handkerchief "Clean yourself up..." I say to her. She takes it and our hands touch. I pull away and look to the street where people are walking and chatting. I try to read her mind but for some odd reason, I can't.. It's like there's a wall up. I look at her and she's standing there. She looks at me "Th-Thanks.." I shrug and I think of what indigo had said. She is important to him but why? "What was he saying about I was important?" She asks. I shake my head "Listen, Kyleigh-" "How do you know my name?!" She says. I sigh and turn to her "Never mind that just listen to me. You're in danger...You have to come with me.."  Her eyes look up to mine. I look to her neck and I can hear her heart beating and I can smell the warm blood pulsing through her veins. "Come on, lets go.." I say turning from her.

       I cannot bring her back to the abandoned building that my family stays in now because crap will hit the fan. We find a low budget hotel room and find a door that was not lock properly. Oh odd is that? Oh well. We walk in and Kyleigh slowly walks in. I look to her and she has sorrow in her eyes. She sighs and sits on the bed. I look to her knee and it is still bleeding. I turn towards the door "I'll.. uh.. I'll go guard the door." I walk out and look around. I see a chair that is there and I take a seat. I mustn't hurt her.... I feel... I connection to her. I think to my self. I sit back and look up into the sky. The night sky is so... interesting. I look at every star and I wish I could see it. Is it a ball of light? Is it a physical star?

       It's been a while so I walk back into the room. I turn towards the door, making sure I'm locking every lock that's on that door. I turn to see Kyleigh's back towards me and she's in a fetal position. Her hair lays lightly on her neck. I feel this urge... An urge that is fatal. I fight that urge and take a seat at the little table. She shifts in the bed and she's now facing me. I look at the table and then out the window. "Who are you?" a small voice says. I turn my head to meet Kyleigh's face. Her eyes are a little red and her nose is also a little red. Has she been crying? I go to open my mouth to answer her but what would I say? That I'm a vampire and she's in danger of another vampire? No.. She'll think I'm crazy. "My name is... Cameron.." She nods and then I turn towards the window again. I can feel her eyes are still on my and I run my hand through my hair. I can hear the bed moving and I do not turn my head towards it. Kyleigh takes a seat across from me on the other chair. "You should get some sleep.." I say not taking my eyes off of the window. "Can't..." She says in a sorrowful tone. I can't have her so close to me. My heart starts pounding and my breathing becomes increased. I look at her and she's facing the window as well. I keep looking at her neck and If I could have just... one... taste... She looks at me and gets up. I stand up and grab her arm. She looks me in the eye and I say "Please... don't scream..." She becomes very still and I move her hair from her neck. I place my lips on her soft, warm skin and my teeth pierces through her skin and a warm liquid flows into my mouth. I drink..

       I am in a house. A house that smells like cinnamon apples and I turn around to see a Christmas Tree. There's a girl.. she must be around 14 or 15 years of age. There is a woman around the age of 35 and a man around the same age. The girl looks like Kyleigh. "Kyleigh, honey, this one if from me." Says the older woman, her mother? yes.. It is her mother. Kyleigh takes the gift from her mother and starts opening it. She smiles at the gift and looks up to her mother. Kyleigh stands up and hugs her mother "Oh mama... It's beautiful! thank you!" "I've got you a gift too, Darling." I turn towards a voice. It is a guy around the age of 17. I get a bad sensation. I feel something bad is going to happen. Kyleigh smiles slightly "George, what did you get me?" He holds out a little box. She stands in front of him and tugs at the bow. The bow becomes loose and it falls to the ground. She peels off the top of the box to reveal a diamond ring. She looks up at him and he smiles. She looks to her mother and father. They smile at each other. I look to Kyleigh and she's hurt. 

        I pull away from Kyleigh's neck and look at her. She's still as a rock. I look at her,dumb founded. I sigh and grab her head. My fingers interlace her hair and I look into her eyes "Forget that this happened. You were hurt by Indigo. That is how you got that mark on your neck." I step away and she stands there. She then says "I'm going to the bathroom.." She turns and heads to the bathroom. I sigh and look out the window. I then sit back down. What just happened?... I know that every time I drink from someone, I get a vision. A vision that they remember in the past but this time, it was different.. I am usually the person. I should have been in Kyleigh's body. I should have been Kyleigh. I sigh and run a hand down my face. I shouldn't have done that... I shouldn't have...
