The One and Only

Chapter 14

                                Kyleigh's point of View  

              I wake up to a voice.. "Hey?.. Are you okay, Kyleigh?" I open my eyes to Jeremiah and he's over me. "Hey there... I have an idea... Indigo and the rest are out... I'm going to break you out of here..." I move my head and I groan "Wh-What...?" I say softly. Or at least I think I said it.. He slips his arm under my neck and one under my legs. He slowly lifts me off the bed. I lay my head against his chest and I hear a heart beat. He's not a vampire... Vampires has a heart beat but it is really slow and really shallow as if they are dead or is dying. His heart beat is beating rapidly and he carries me out of the room and out of the building. It is dark out and he stops. Why did he stop? His heart skips a beat and I turn my head to look at who it is. It is Indigo. My eyes widen and Jeremiah says "Close your eyes.." I look at him and I cling to him. I close my eyes and hide my face in his chest. I hear yelling and screaming but I don't dare to look.

      Suddenly... It stops... I open my eyes and look around. I can not believe my eyes... "A-Are they-" "Dead?" he finishes as he starts walking, "No. Just knocked out.." I look at him and his face is serious. I must have fallen asleep because I head "Hey.. Wake up.." I open my eyes to Cameron. I gasp and shoot up. I hug him and he hugs me back. I whisper "Cameron.. I missed you.." "Who's Cameron?" Another voice says. I wake up and see Jeremiah sitting next to me. I look around and there's hay everywhere and we are in a wooden place. "Wh-Where are we?" He look around and looks at me "A barn. We had to find shelter because it was starting to rain and storm."  I sit up and he practically falls over to help me "I'm okay..." I say. "Be careful.. You only have a cloth on your neck" He says. I reach up to my neck and there's a damp washcloth on my wound. I put my hand down and I lean against a bail of hay. I look at him and he looks out the barn doors, watching the rain. I look also. I wonder what day it is... I wonder if I would ever seen Cameron ever again. I frown. I listen to the rain drops hitting the grass. I want to feel each one of the drops on my soft skin. I close my eyes then I look at him. "Jeremiah... Why did you save me?" My question makes him look over to me and then at the door. He doesn't answer me right away but he says, "Because... I know what he's going to do to you... I heard them talking and-" He stops and I am waiting for him to continue. "What?..." I ask him. He sighs and continues "I heard his and his 'crew' talking about turning you into a vampire so they could get rid of the human race...." He looks at me "You're a demon and a witch... If they turn you, you would be the most powerful of the whole world... They have the power and they can control you if they turn you.. " My heart stops and my chest gets heavy. You know that feeling in your chest and arms? Your limbs get heavy and your stomach just turns. I guess he could see how frightened I am because he lays his hand on my hand "I would never let them do that to you... Never..." he embraces me and I smile a little. It is night and I lay down. Jeremiah found a blanket and he covers me up. I lay in a fetal position and it takes me a while to fall asleep but I finally do fall asleep..

      I hear Jeremiah's voice all hysterical "Kyleigh!! Wake Up!! Someone's here!.. COME ON!!" I open my eyes and he is over me. "mmm, What?" I say in a tired voice. "THERE YOU ARE!" A man who is bald and muscular. He could be a wrestler.. He picks me up by the hair and Jeremiah tries to fight off the others. I scream in fear and pain. Then, the man grabs me by the neck and his fingers dig into the washcloth which is covering the bite. I yell about that. He pulls me to a car and shoves me inside. I look out the window and see Jeremiah laying on the ground. He watches the car drive of and I yell "LET ME GO!!!" I stand my ground until I figure out that I wasn't being stern but instead it came out as a plea.

     A while later, the car stops and I am yanked out. I go into the house, I escaped from. In the parler, I am united with three men. Indigo, another man I've never seen before, and.... Cameron... My heart shatters as I see him with his hands behind his back, showing no emotion. The bald guy lets go of me and I run to cameron. "Cam.." I can feel tears falling down. "Cameron.. help me please?! Please?" I can feel my body shake. I place my shaking hands on his cheeks and have him look at me "Cam.. please... Please?!" My voice shakes. "He hears you.. But.. He doesn't care" Indigo says. My heart stops and I look at him "What did you do?!" "Every Vampire has this 'switch' I guess you would call it. It's called the Humanity switch. When that is off," He demonstrates with a light switch and turns the lights off. I see nothing " you are not aware of your surroundings. You can't tell what's going to happen next." He turns the lights on "When it is on, You care about everything and you always tend to do such good for the world or the one you love." Cameron, with a flick of a wrist, throws me against the wall. I slide down the wall and fall to the ground with a thump. I breathe deeply and for a slit second, I couldn't breathe at all. "Kill her!" Indigo orders Cameron. I gasp when Cameron comes to me and clenched my throat. He lifts me off the ground and my feet dangle. "C-Cam.." I say hoarsely. "Cameron, it's me... Kyleigh..." I say. He doesn't budge but he squeezes harder making my windpipe cut off. I gasp for air and my heart pounds. I place my hand on his chest "Cam.." I whisper and tears roll down my cheeks... Maybe this is the end. I feel the tear fall down my cheek, jaw, and unto his hand. His hand loosens and then lowers me. He lets go and I fall to the ground once again. I cough and gasp at he same time. Cough... Cough.. Cough..Cough.. My chest rises and lowers. I breathe deeply and Cameron looks at me. I look at him and his eyes are filled with sorrow and hate. "Cameron! I SAID TO KILL HER!" "No." Cameron says with a stern voice. I look down at the ground trying to regain my breath and strength.

      I look at my hand ,which was on Cameron's chest. It has a glowing white light just like the one I seen when I saw my mother. It was my mother... She helped me. I look at Indigo and I stand "Indigo!" I yell. He looks at me. I place my hands together and I close my eyes. I reopen them and gradually open my hands. There is sits, a ball of light. I look at indigo and his eyes widen. "I have a gift. Here, have it!" I yell as point my index finger at him. Wind blows through my long brown hair and the ball of light plummits into Indigo's chest making him slam to the ground. I walk up to him and his skin turns to a gray-ish blue-ish color and he gasps for air. Then, dark blue vain like lines spread all over and his eyes turn to a white cloudy film. He takes his last breath and then dies. My heart pounds against my chest. I breathe heavily and look to the corner of the room. There stands a beautiful brown haired lady and a black hair man. Mother and Father.. My father has a hand on mothers shoulder and she looks to him. She then looks to me and says with a ghostly voice "We are very proud of you, Kyleigh Rae..." She smiles a heart warming smile. I feel a few more tears fall down my face. I walk closer to them saying "Mother.. Father.." You can tell that I was crying because of my voice. Father says "We love you, sweetheart.." My chest gets heavy and I say "I wish you could have been here to teach me.." "But we were here, baby.." Mother says. "We would always be here for you... In your dreams, your soul, and most importantly, your heart. We love you.." Just as she says that they vanish into two balls and those two balls of light seeps through my chest. I couldn't help my fall to my knees and cry. Cameron kneals down and embraces me. I sob and sob and Cam holds onto me tightly. I really wish I could have known them... I wish they were here...
