Chapter 10 : Whoever has her is screwed

Logann's POV

I woke to see a cat staring me straight in the eyes. It had blue eyes. "Bercus? Why are you here?"
"Get up stupid." He said bluntly.
I blinked at him. "What did I do?" I looked behind him and saw that it was pitch black outside. "What time is it?" I asked. " Nine p.m. , that means you're late for your meeting with your mom. An hour late to be specific." My eyes went wide.

"Holy crap! Kid wake up!" Kid jolted straight up. "I'm late for a meeting with my mother! Come on we gotta go!" He tumbled off the couch sensing the urgency in my voice as I rolled the other way.

Bercus chuckled at the speed that we fell off the bed. I ignored him and slipped on my heels. Then I grabbed my hat and placed it onto the center of my head. Kid was already waiting for me at the door since he didn't know the way around the house.

I scooped up Bercus into my arms and began to run. My heels made a clicking sound as we ran. At some point Bercus jumped onto my shoulder. We got into the dining room.

My mother had two files on the table infront of her and she looked ticked off. 'She's totally about to make an inappropriate statement.' "Are you two done having sex now? Because God only knows what you must've been doing to be an hour late." She grumped. 'Called it!' I thought.

I brushed her off. "Wait why is he here?" She said as she looked at Kid. "Well since I'm going to marry him one day we'll have to share this kingdom, no? There for this is his concern as well." She rolled her eyes at me. "Bercus did I order atittued for dinner?" Bercus, who was now is his human form answered me. "Not that I recall, my lady." So why am I receiving it?" I asked him. "Figures today her atittued is just as bad as her cooking is everyday."

Two could play this game. She wants to be petty imma be petty. Kid took a seat next to Liz and Patty. "Let us not squabble like children for now. We have more pressing matters to discuss." I smiled sweetly. "Yes I agree." 'Bitch' I thought in my head.

You might be confused. Here's what's happening. My mother came into my home, started acting like a bitch and now I'm throwing her horrible attitude back at her. What's also going on is what's not being said in the conversation. After about like two seconds things will go back to normal. We have a short attention span from time to time.

Bercus handed me the file and I passed it to my mother. She passed me the two files infront of her. I handed one to Kid. "Can you hold onto that for me?" I asked him. "Sure."

After I finished reading, I waved my hand motioning for Bercus to come closer. He bent down close to my face. I covered our faces with the files.  "This has gotten out of hand. Call Vivian down here for me and Jilly as well. Jilly is studying to be a doctor so she could help and Vivian has degree in science so she can help us too." He nodded.

"May I be excused?" Asked Bercus. I raised my hand and waved towards the door. "Go on."
"Kid,Liz,Patty. It is no longer safe here, please go upstairs. I will look into sending you all home." The three nodded at me. Kid looked at me on the way out and arched a brow at me. He placed the file on the dining room table.

"I'll tell you later." I told him as he opened the door. They all walked out and I heard them walking up the stairs. Jilly came in with Vivian. "Ladies glad you could make it." I said to them.

I hugged Jilly and Vivian. "Please take a seat." The two girls sat down next to me. "Have you found what's been blocking the magic from witches right before their killed yet?" Asked my mother. I looked over at Vivian and Jilly. "Vivian, Jilly have the two of you ever heard of something that can momentarily block magic to prevent a witch from activating it?" I asked. "Witchbane." Said the two girls at the same time. "Pray tell what is this "witchbane"?" Asked my mother.
