Colt's truck ^^
Victoria's View
He had short brown hair that was gelled and kind of stuck up in the front. He was wearing a cut off t-shirt that was ripped down both sides to show his obliques, black gym shorts and tennis shoes.
My breath caught when he looked at me and smiled. Gorgeous smile and white teeth. I saw something flash across his eyes.
I've seen that before. When a wolf finds his mate.
Shit. I can't catch a break.
Everything made more sense now as to how Emma moved so fast and her slip of words. I had ran straight into another pack.
He walked up to me. "Hi, my names Colt Anderson." He extended his hand. His voice was as smooth as whiskey.
Double shit.
I gingerly took it. "Victoria."
He looked me up and down then turned his attention to Emma.
"Grandma." he acknowledged her, pecking her cheek. Emma pecked his cheek back.
"Colt get their belongings and put them in the truck" she commanded. He looked at me asking for permission. I nodded and unlocked the car.
He got our bags out of the trunk and walked over to his truck and put them in the bed.
I carefully took Kali out of her carseat and she stayed asleep as I held her. I turned around to head to the Chevy and bumped into Colt. He reached out and grabbed me by my elbows to keep me steady.
I felt a spark when he touched me. It felt awkward.
I looked up and saw him looking down at me. It was awkward with Kali in my arms. So to break the silence I spoke first.
"Can you please get her car seat out the back?"
"Sure. I think I can figure it out." He moved to get the contraption out of my car. Once done he put it in his truck.
I was standing next to the left passenger door and he looked at me expectantly.
I gave him a how do I get in look. The truck was so high, the cab came up to my hips so I couldn't get in while holding Kali.
"Oh yeah. My bad." he said sheepishly.
He reached over and tried to take Kalie from me. I tightened my grip on her and took a few steps back.
He stood there with his arms stretched out for a moment before he realized I wasn't going to give her up and his hands dropped to his sides.
"I'm not going to hurt you or her" he said calmly.
They didn't understand the magnitude of the things that Damon had put me through. I didn't trust people anymore and my mother instincts were in overdrive.
"Hand her to me dear. You get in and I'll hand her back to you." Emma offered.
Seeing as how I couldn't do it on my own and I had some kind of trust in Emma, I agreed. "Ok"
I handed her Kali and climbed in the back seat. Emma did as she said and handed Kali back to me where I strapped her back into her carseat.
"Could you have found a vehicle any taller Colt?" she scolded. "You know I'm old and my old knees can't climb mount Everest."
"Sorry grandma." He replied defeated as he tried to help her in.
She swatted his hand. "Boy the day I need anyone's help is the day I dig my own grave."
"Okay, fine." He held both his hands up in submission. He walked to the drivers side and hopped in with ease. Emma finally got in and put her seatbelt on. He turned back to look at me.
"Hard headed little thing isn't she?" he smirked.
That landed him another swat on the arm from Emma. I couldn't help but smile at the two because in the short time I known her, I thought so too.
Colt cranked up the truck and pulled away from the gas station. Once again, we were on the move. To where, I didn't know but as long as it took us away from the Woodlands pack territory the better for us.
