Asher's View**I stood in Damon's office by the entrance as he ran around grabbing only goddess knows what and threw them into a duffle bag. Within ten minutes he had the bag in his hand packed and had ordered some wolves to pack his car with the rest of the luggage.
Lots of luggage, I observed.
Good, means he'll be gone for a while. I told Grey.
Hopefully. Too bad he can't just leave and never come back.
Wishful thinking.
How about we just kill him? Haven't felt the life drain from someone in a while..
No. He's too strong and I'd rather live.
Pussy. He smirked at me.
Fucker. I insulted back.
I leaned against the white door jam of Damon's house as he strode off and opened the car door. Before he got in he turned to face me with one hand on the top of the door.
"Asher. Im going to assume you know how to take care of the pack after I leave?" He asked.
I nodded.
Assume?! Let me fucking kill the bastard and problem solved.
Grey was trying his best to claw to the front and take over control. His green eyes shining brighter with anger. He didn't like insults and he hated Damon. It took a considerable amount of concentration on my part to push him back.
Calm down. We can't or we'll blow the plans. We cannot fight the whole pack and you know it. Pay attention, he is leaving and will be gone soon. We will wait till the cover of night and everyone is asleep and make our move.
Grey snorted. Fine. But if anything goes wrong, Im taking over and doing it my way.
I outwardly rolled my eyes at him. Sometimes he can be a bit much.
I watched as the car took off down the road. The tail lights fading from view. For added effect, I waved. Once the car was out of sight I turned and headed to the pack house. We only had a few hours till nightfall. By then, Damon should be long gone and we can make our move. Since I am technically in charge now, no one will question my actions.
Closing my eyes I sent the moon goddess a silent prayer that everything would go smoothly.
....A few hours later....
It was night now as I looked out the window into the black sky. The millions of stars that shown like someone had thrown a handful of glitter at the black canvas that was the night.
The time was upon us and it was time to make my move. I made my way to our bed where Tate lay sleeping. It took an act of congress to get her to agree to take a nap before we had to
leave. She would need her energy and wits about her. After about a 15 minute heated debate, she let me win. I soaked in the bliss for once being right since it was a rare occasion.I sat on the bed next to her and stroked her back.
"Tate." I said calmly. I didn't want to startle her or get punched in the face again. Last time I woke her up she about killed me. I learned my lesson to never wake her up from a nap.
She stirred a little but didn't wake. I shook her shoulder and tried again.
"Tate." I raised my voice a little louder in hopes of waking her and not the entire house.
She rolled over and tugged the sheet with her.
"Go a..way..." she wasn't awake but she was giving me commands unconscious.
