What the fuck did she just say?
Leo watched with wide eyes as you stood defiantly between him and his Sensei, arms held out like you were trying to protect him from an attack. Splinter's gaze flicked between the two of you, and Leonardo just knew he was fucked. He was never leaving the Hashi again.
"You going to answer me?" This was going to get out of hand really fast if he didn't reign you in. You were insulting a master! Splinter could knock you into next week but there you were sassing him like he was a common criminal.
"Leo..." Donnie hissed as he shifted to stand with his brothers at the entrance to the room. The leader quickly released his position on the chairs before setting down the chopsticks and eggs.
"I am Master Splinter. And you are Y/N I take it." The low edge of his father's voice told Leo that he did not like being snapped at by a stranger.
"Y/N," you glanced back over your shoulder at the terrapin's voice, "it's okay. We do this all the time."
Apparently that was not the right thing to say.
"Oh perfect so he's a full-time asshole. That makes it all better!" The bara dropped his head into his hands with a quiet groan. Oh. My. God. He wasn't going to lie, he found it adorably admirable that you wanted to protect him from anything- be it Purple Dragons or his own father- but you really needed to watch your mouth.
"I do not expect an outsider to understand." Was Splinter's tense retort, his tail snapping angrily in the air around his feet. Fuck, he was pissed. Before you could run your mouth some more, Leo jumped forward and wrapped a wide hand around the bottom half of your face. Your words were thankfully lost in his skin and the terrapin speaking over you.
"Sorry, Master, it's the shock kicking in. Between nearly dying at the hands of the Purple Dragons and seeing us all in person I'm sure she didn't mean any of it." His last words were heavy with an implied demand that you apologize to the old rat. Blowing out a sigh through your nose, you and Leo bend down together in an awkwardly united bow. He didn't remove his hand either, just in case you decided to make a comment under your breath that the rodent may hear.
"All is forgiven this time." Splinter dipped his head in acceptance of your apology and Leo took that as his chance to quickly thank his dad and scoop you off your feet so all four brothers could rush from the Hashi as fast as possible before you dig yourself a deeper hole. You were finally deposited on your feet in the center of the living room, the four boys a little crowded around you in their unintentional excitement to say a proper hello.
"I can't believe you said that to Master!" Blurted the... thing... sporting a wide smile and a strip of bright orange silk over his eyes like a mask. You limply shrug as you mentally tried to figure out just what they were. That Ponyboy wannabe called them turtles, but they didn't really look like the reptiles you know of. But now that you can properly inspect them instead off flying glimpses in the late night rains you started to see the similarities.
"He was being an asshole."
"It's called discipline." Leo defended his father's actions, earning a snide look from your E/C orbs beneath quirked brows.
"It's called being an asshole." The bara lowly snorted but kept his mouth shut, instead deciding to stand back and watch how you interact with his family. He already chose to expose them by bringing you down here, but that didn't mean that you were going to be an ally. And if you proved to be a threat he had to be prepared to cut down the risk. Even if that risk was a very pretty girl with a knack for running her mouth.
"We haven't properly introduced ourselves, have we?" Donnie cut into the conversation and Leo's mental masonry. "You've met Leo, of course. I'm Donatello- Donnie for short." He smiled and pushed up his tortoise shell glasses by the taped nose bridge.
"Trajectory..." You mumbled lowly, remembering that he was the one who spouted off a long number that had something to do with jump trajectory.
"That's Raph, in the red!" The previous orange creature spoke up as he pointed towards the most muscled of the group. "He's like a big, cuddly teddy bear..... if big cuddly teddy bears were incredibly violent."
"Dickhead." You whispered through your teeth as you smiled and waved at the ever-shifting mountain of an animal.
"And I'm Michelangelo, signature orange. Triple threat: brains, brawn, and obviously a dazzling personality! Ladies like to call me Mikey." The others rolled their eyes at his words.
"Are you gonna introduce us like that every time we meet someone new?" Raphael snapped as a ridge in his mask quirked like an eyebrow.
"Of course! It's awesome!" You lightly laughed as he mocked a shot to the heart like the red bandana wearing creature hurt him physically with his question.
"Well I'm Y/N, nice to properly meet you all. Sorry to get you sent to the whatever the hell that was." You limply wave back towards the Hashi room, your eyes pointed towards the lanky Donnie at that part. He smiled and waved off your apology saying it wasn't your fault.
"Yeah, it's not your fault Leo brought a girl home!" Mikey teases as he looked behind you at his brother who had been so quiet you almost forgot he was in the room. You couldn't see him but you figured he was making some sort of lewd comeback gesture behind your back.
"Though I think I'd be dead or something if he didn't." You rubbed at the back of your neck with mild embarrassment that you got your ass kicked like that. "Oh! That reminds me! Thanks for the medical attention, Donnie!"
"No problem, Y/N. Sorry about the clothes, I had to trash them they were ruined." You shrugged lightly and held up your arms to let the extra long sleeves flop down over your hands.
"It's alright, they were cheap and I used them as painting clothes mostly. At least you're lending me these." You kick out your feet to include the massive socks slipping down your legs. All three brothers looked between each other and then behind you towards their silent brother as he stared off into space in deep thought.
"Those aren't mine, actually. They're Leo's." You felt a creeping blush threaten to redden your skin as Donnie explained that you were wearing Mr. Sexy Voice's clothes. Leo was still trying to build up and strengthen his walls, he wasn't going to get his hopes up like his brothers seem to be doing- even Raph was warming up to you. He heard Donnie say his name and he instinctively looked up to check on his family.
You turned to face him, his brothers all smirking widely behind you. A thin hand slid free of the oversized hoodie and ran through your H/C locks as you lightly bounced on your toes. A smile pulled on the corners of your mouth and he could see the faint wash of a pink blush color your cheeks and nose.
"Thanks for everything, Leo." Your E/C orbs flicked between him and the concrete.
"No problem, Y/N."
The walls were already beginning to crumble.
