Recap: "And when God takes you back he'll say hallelujah you're home." I whispered ending it with a gentle kiss on her forehead.

All of a sudden the door burst open the same grey haired man that had assisted us the whole evening reappearing once again.

"I'm so sorry Rye..."

Back to now ~

I looked over to him, my eyes wide, "what?!" I asked alarmed.

"We... we've..." hurry up, we haven't got all day, I thought.
"We accidentally mixed up the result papers of the MRI scan" he stated, cutting straight to the chase.
I was so shocked. For one, how unprofessional of them, surely making sure you had the correct results to match the person would be a key detail that would be made sure of. And two, is that better news for us or worse?

"And?" I asked expecting an answer regarding Alexis' health.

"It's good news." He said with a slight smile.
"Really?" I replied, eager to know more. I intwined my fingers with hers once again, my fingers slowly rubbing over her knuckles.

"Genuinely there is nothing wrong apart from a mild concussion, there's no need for any surgery, and she should be awake by tomorrow morning once the strong painkillers have worn off. There's a chance she may get discharged later that day as long as there are no other complications along the way. However once home, she will need to rest and do nothing but that." He continued to explain.

I nodded, a huge smile on my face. To think not that long ago, I was admitting that it would be a surprise to see her make it out alive, whereas now, I will almost 100% have the chance to fulfill all those things I spoke to her about earlier.

After going over a few things with me, Doctor Williams made his way down to the others in order to tell them the incredible news, but then to also break the news to the other family who had no idea this was coming their way.

12:30am

Alexis was eventually moved back down to the actual correct ward this time, where they then brought me a blanket and a pillow. I sat down on the leather arm chair, my eyes scanning the whole room. I don't think I'm getting to sleep anytime soon. All the others had gone home, Brad and Derek to make sure the house was perfect for when she came home. And Mikey and Andy driving back to Slough to tell the others the news - they had all stayed back at the flat worried sick and awaiting any information.

By the time the clock that was hung up on the wall hit 3am, my eyes were heavily drifting off, resulting in me dozing off not long after.

Alexis' POV

I could hear everything. From the collision of the two cars and the banging on the windows. To the ear-bleeding ambulance sirens and the chatter of people.
However, I couldn't see a thing, it was all pitch black.

Hours and hours passed, my bed getting wheeled up and down corridors multiple times.
The best thing was when I heard a recognisable voice. My father.
He explained how proud he was of me and how much he loved me. Followed by Brad doing the same.

They soon left and I was all alone.

Then I heard the door moving slightly, and light footsteps making their way over towards my bed.
I could smell the all-too-familiar aftershave of the person I know and love. My Ryan.
