Brad's POV

"Dad!" I shouted from the front door.

"Yes?" He called back.

"I'm just going to the shop!" I spoke before slipping on my adidas trainers.

"Okay!"

I took my car keys from the hook, slipping them into the pocket of my trackie bottoms.
After rethinking, I took them out and hung them back up. I'm gonna walk.
I went up the stairs and over to my room, getting a hoodie from the wardrobe, pulling it over my head as I walked back downstairs.

I opened up the door, closing it behind me and stepped outside feeling the cold air against my cheeks. I shoved my hood up before walking down the road.

After walking for only a minute or two, I heard a huge crash that must've been really close.
I started running, until I reached the corner and my tongue got caught in my throat. I covered my face with my hands as I stared at the collision in front of me. Bless them, I hope everyones alright.
I ran over to the car nearest to me, checking if the people were okay.
I looked through the window, before running around to the other side and tapping on the glass.

"Is everyone okay?!" I asked alarmed.
"No!" The woman choked on her tears, "my husband!" She cried turning to the driver as blood dripped down his face, his head resting backwards.
"I'll call an ambulance," I explained to her.
"What about the girl?!" The woman exclaimed pointing towards the car in front.

That's when my heart stopped.

Alexis.

I ran from the woman straight over to Alexis' car.
I smacked my hands on the windows in hopes to get her attention.
"ALEXIS!" I shouted as a tear fell from my eye.
She had a huge gash on the side of her head, blood pouring out from it as she sat unresponsive.
My breathing picked up.
I quickly pulled out my phone, dialling '999' straight away.
After the ambulance had been dispatched, I rang my Dad.

"Dad! Come quick!" I shouted down my phone.

"What's happened? Are you alright?!" He asked frantically.

"There's been a car crash! It's Alexis," I said as more tears fell from my eyes.
All of sudden he put his phone down, I soon saw him running down to me, his hand covering his mouth as he saw the car wreck.
The whole front of A's car had collided with the other.
My dad ran over to the other family, not wanting to face my sister.
He helped them out the car before guiding them over to the pavement, they all sat with tears in their eyes, the mum and 2 younger girls, one around 8 and the other a couple years younger.

Not long after, 2 ambulances accompanied by a police car arrived at the scene. One going to assist the man whilst the other went over to Alexis.
2 people pulled out a stretcher whilst someone else attempted to pry the car door open.

"You need to call Rye," my dad said as we watched them fail right before our eyes.

"It's no use." The policeman said.
"Keep trying," my dad insisted.

I pulled out my phone going onto my contacts and tapping Rye's name. I've literally never even spoken to the lad or seen him in person. And this is probably the worst time to meet him. Everyone's schedules are just so busy, it's really hard to work around and find a time where we are all free.

The phone rang twice before he picked up.

"Hey mate everything alright?" Rye spoke with confusion.
"No not really, it's Alexis, she's been in a car crash, you know where we live right?" I asked quickly,  trying to hold myself together.
"Er yeah," he replied sadness and shock evident in his voice.
"Can you get here as soon as possible?"
"Of course, I'm already on my way, see you in a bit." He said.
"Bye pal." I ended.
