The Next Year:

Alexis' POV

"We're here!" I heard someone call as I was abruptly awoken by the shaking of someones hand on my shoulder.

I stretched out my hands as a big yawn took over me.

"Hi sleepyhead," Brad said sliding open the car door.

I scowled at him for waking me up from my deep slumber.

"You want to come and explore the new house don't you?" My dad asked enthusiastically, I'm so glad he is happy again. Eventhough after what she put him through, he couldn't really come to terms with the fact mum definetley wasn't coming back. We all couldn't. But as time went by, gradually, we grew to live with it. Now, I don't think we would look back on it as a bad thing. It changed our lives for the better. Dad managed to save enough money for this beautiful new house. We all chipped in obviously, with Brad's new band kicking off a little, we actually were able to pay for quite a large part of the multiple-naught-digit number.

To say the house was pretty would be an understatement! It was amazing! Accompanying the house, was a huge garden and a swimming pool!

"Oh my god!" Brad and I shouted, "you didn't tell us about that!" I added excitedly. We abandoned our luggage in the living room and ran onto the large patio space through the double-doors.
Brad jumped in fully-clothed, making us fall into hysterics.

"K, it's a bit cold." He explained lifting himself out then standing holding his arms as he shivered vigorously.

We just laughed at him before grabbing him a towel and carrying on with the exploration of our new home.

"So, this is your room," My dad said as we slowly turned round into another hallway and he pointed towards the first door on the right.

I placed my hand on the door and lightly pushed.
I stood there my chin scraping across the floor as I took in my surroundings, staring in amazement.

"This is incredible!" I exclaimed as a single tear rolled down my cheek. I ran up to my dad and pulled him into a hug.

"I love you," I said into his shoulder, "Thankyou so much."

"I love you too, and WE couldn't have done this without eachother," he replied emphasising on the word 'we'.

I hugged Brad, then they left to leave me to look around my room and unload some of the clothes I had brought with me into the huge chest of drawers displayed on both sides of the room.
Afterwards, I fell backwards onto my enormous queen-size bed, to be met with the incredibly-soft grey and pink blanket.
"This is so crazy." I whispered to myself.

That evening, we sat around the huge dining table. My dad made spaghetti bolognese and we all had a lovely time, laughing and talking until it went dark.

We decided to have a movie night, so I made us all some popcorn and a drink whilst they set up all the pillows and blankets in the living room.

"Which movie we watching tonight then kiddos?" My dad asked as he sat on the smaller sofa, Brad and I on the larger one.

"Titanic?" I asked, seeing as it's one of my favourites.
A loud chorus of groans fell out the boys' mouths.
"Not that again." My dad said rolling his eyes, attempting to hide the laugh that was about to slip out his mouth any moment.

I threw a cushion at him, making him burst into a fit of laughter.

"Well anyone else have any other ideas?" I asked annoyed as I really wanted to watch Jack and Rose fall in love all over again. Plus, Leonardo Dicaprio... that's all I need to say...
