We had fallen asleep in that very position and didn't wake up until about 11am.
"Your Dad has text me, he said he has your suitcase from your car, ready for you at the entrance, am I okay to go get it?" I asked Alexis quietly as she was just waking up. Once receiving a tired nod accompanied by a huge yawn, I slid myself out from underneath the covers and went down to Reception in order to collect her things.

After collecting the suitcase along with her handbag, I lugged it back to her room.
A nurse was in there by the time I got back, checking up on her and analysing whether or not she was fit to leave the premises and go home.
"Everything seems to be healing well, you said the pain has definitely decreased, so I don't see why you can't go home," she explained with a smile.

After a little while of talking with the nurse, she left, I went over to Alexis' suitcase and started unzipping it.
"No don't, I'll do it!" She said frantically as she clambered out the bed and over to me.
"Okay?" I replied questioningly as my eyebrows furrowed and I walked back to the armchair.
"Be careful though babe, we don't want you hurting yourself even more," I added as I sat down.

Alexis' POV

I secretly picked out a crop top and some leggings from the pile of clothes underneath Rye's present, he was so close to potentially seeing it.
Then I slowly wandered over to the bathroom attached to my room, closing the door behind me and taking off the hospital gown in change for my own comfy clothes.
Once finished, I gathered the gown in my hands, folding it up before leaving the little room and placing it on the side.
I was just so drained and my head was all over the place, I couldn't bare to think of what Rye must feel like, he must be exhausted as well.
He could've probably seen how I was feeling by the expression on my face as he pulled me into a long warm hug whilst we stood in the middle of the room.

"It'll be all back to normal soon, I promise," he whispered with a gentle kiss on the top of my head.
I continued to hug him before we let go and got back to getting ready to leave this place. Even though the people here were so kind, and the news we are leaving with totally isn't what we expected to have had happened, I'm still glad to be leaving. I was just exhausted as though all the life and energy had been extracted from me. I felt weak and wanted nothing better than to stay snuggled up in bed all day, watching movies with my loved ones.

"Are you ready?" Rye asked at 12pm
All the bags were packed, and we both looked somewhat presentable to say what we had been through the past day.
I nodded with a small smile as I slowly stood up and wandered over to him as he stood by the door, I intwined our fingers before we exited the room and made our way down hallway after hallway, corridor after corridor until we finally made it to the reception desk towards the entrance of the hospital.

Rye's POV

"Thank you," I said with a smile as we signed ourselves out before exiting the building. I slid off my hoodie, passing it to Alexis and watching her pull it on over her head. I wrapped my arm around her shoulders as I saw the shivering slowly come to a stop.
"You okay?" I asked gently before she responded with a nod, accompanied by a little smile as we carried on walking to where her Dad's car was parked and ready to pick us up.

As he saw us approaching, he stepped out his black car before making his way over to Alexis and engulfing her in a big loving hug. I proceeded to load the bags into the boot of the car whilst her Dad assisted her in getting into the backseat incase she had difficulty doing so.
Before getting into the car myself Derek came up to me in order to thank me for being so supportive of her and all that, he also invited me to stay with them for the next couple days whilst she's on the mend.
