Though the full name is Mitarashi Dango, this dish is usually referred to as just the Dango. It is a street food that is eaten by many characters. The mochi makes it a fun food to animate as characters fill their cheeks with the delicious desserts. Many characters eat the whole dango in one bite and make this dish look extremely appetizing. There is another version of the dango where it is a fried donut, but we will be making the sweet soy sauce covered dango that is most commonly seen in animes.

Servings: 8 dangos

Ingredients:

240g Sweet rice flour240g Tofu, soft2 1/2 Tbsp corn starch1/2 cup sugar5 Tbsp soy sauce1 cup water8 skewers

Steps:

1. Gather all ingredients

2. Combine together tofu and sweet rice flour. Mix well. The dough should feel like an earlobe

3. Take 1 Tbsp of dough and roll into balls

4.  In a large pot, boil water and cook balls until they float up. Cook for another 2-3 mins after they float up. Remove from water

5. In a small pot, add in corn starch, sugar, soy sauce, and 1 cup water. Mix together and cook until it comes to a boil. Keep warm

6. Skewer 3-4 dangos into each skewer. Then in a non stick frying pan at medium heat, brown the dangos

7. Plate the dangos and coat them in the sauce

8. Serve
