Mrs. Jauregui

Chapter 7

Ally knew the look her wife was giving her before running off toward the burning building. She knew nothing she could say would change Lauren's mind. The panic that ran through her veins watching her take off had never been so high. "Lauren..."

Ally grabs Honey's hand, while her daughter hold's Biggie in her other hand, and takes off towards Lauren, sprinting as fast as she could with Tiny beside her. She sees a woman crying to the police officer, and she can faintly hear 'Baby'. Lauren must've heard everything, because as soon as she arrived Lauren looks at her, giving her a smile.

Ally feels her heart skip, watching her run into the burning building. "MOMMY!" Honey screams and tries to run to her mom, but Ally catches her in time, and falls to the ground to envelope the screaming toddler. Ally is sobbing, and she sees the building's top floor starting to come down.

Ally lets out a scream, and covers her and Honey's face. When the horn for the firetruck is blaring behind her, Ally sees Normani jump off the truck and the other firefighter's immediately jump to action. When Normani notices Ally, and the state she's in, she runs as fast as she could to them. "Where's Lauren?!" Normani is frantic, and hears a group of people scream. Ally and Normani turn and see Lauren, almost three stories high in the air, holding a baby.

Ally watches in horror, her wife going back into the apartment, then immediately jumping over the railing followed by an explosion, and the entire building collapsing. The world is still. Ally will never forget seeing how Lauren's body smacked into a pile of bushes, hitting the ground. Ally takes off with Honey, and she is immediately held back by the police.

"No, please that's my wife!" Ally begs, and she notices the woman who was crying about her baby be held back also. She watches as the paramedics rush over to Lauren and the little bundle, and carefully pick up the baby. "She survived!" The man called out, and goes to the women and returns her.

The other medics on the scene are checking Lauren's pulse, trying to wake her up. The police officer lets Ally go, and is right at Lauren's side. "Baby please wake up, please..."

No response.

The medics then bring out a stretcher, one of the younger ones pulls Ally away, "Ma'am I need you to calm down please, we are taking her to the hospital, I promise you we are not gonna let this woman die." The young girl rushes to the ambulance and the immediately take off. Ally is about to call a cab, before she feels a hand on her shoulder. She sees it's the lady and her baby, and the sympathy in the women's eyes were unavoidable.

"My name is Alissa, and if it wasn't for your wife, I would've lost my life," She shows Ally a perfectly healthy and safe babygirl,"Please let me drive you and your family to the hospital." Ally looks at the ambulance turn the corner, and nods. "Please..."

Alissa had waited with Ally and Honey in the waiting room, till Camila, Dinah and Normani got there. Alissa left her number with Ally, and hugs her on her way out, saying she will do anything for the family for the rest of her life. "Ally, you need to relax baby, you know how dangerous this stress can be to you." Dinah whispers to her, as she holds her friend who hadn't stopped crying.

"Here mama, drink please." Camila bends infront of Ally handing her water. Ally gulps it down, and watches as Normani holds Honey. The poor baby hadn't stopped crying either, she just held onto her new puppy, and was petting Tiny to distract herself. Normani had done a great job at calming her down, but the thought of her mommy going into a fire had traumatized her.

"Jauregui?" A doctor calls out, and the whole group stands up. The fear on Ally's face as the doctor doesn't suppress any positive emotion was enough to make her almost faint. "Are you the wife?" He says to Ally and she nods. "Mrs. Jauregui is in a coma, she has inhaled a ton of smoke, has a severe concussion but luckily no internal bleeding has been found inside the body or the brain, and lastly she has a broken leg, but if Lauren chooses to wake up we will be able to determine to say if she will survive or not...it is all up to her now."

Ally breathes in and lets the tears fall, and gathers enough strength to talk, "Can we see her?"

The doctor gives her a sympathetic smile, and nods, "Yes, one at a time due to the fact that she is in the ICU unit." The girls all look at Ally, and give her an encouraging smile, "Ally you should rest first, I'll bring you and Honey back as soon as you wake up." Dinah says, and Ally knew better than to argue with Dinah. she isn't in the right state to be putting this stress upon herself.

Walking to the car, rain starts to pour. The dogs, Honey, and Ally climb into Dinah's van and they drive home.

Exiting the car, Ally realizes that the dogs don't know where they are. "Honey, you think it be a good idea to let the dogs sleep with us?"

Honey nods softly, before breaking down.
