Chapter 14

Ally was putting the chicken pot pie into the over when she heard crying start to come from the living room. "Coming baby." She says as she walks to the crib where Charlie and Comet are. Honey had woken up and was watching her siblings. "Mommy, I'm hungry."

"I know baby, dinner is in the over, go wash up mama I'm gonna feed your brother." Ally grabs Comet as he begins to cry louder, and begins to breast feed him. "You're a hungry little one aren't you?"

As Ally sits on the couch, she sees Lauren come down the stairs with Charlotte. Ally notices how Lauren seems tense, as if she saw a ghost. "Baby what's wrong?"

Lauren smiles and shakes her head, "Nothing babe, just think I might be coming down with something...Dinah is coming over real quick by the way." Lauren puts Charlotte in a rocker, and lets her chill infront of the TV. Ally places her free hand on Lauren's forehead. "Mmm you're a bit warm, you're sweating...I'll make you tea and get you medicine."

Ally leaves to the pantry with Comet, and Lauren waits for Dinah to come.

There's a knock at the door. Lauren goes to open it, and sees both Dinah and Camila with worry on their faces. "Did your dad tell you anything?" Lauren talks quietly, so Ally doesn't hear. Camila frowns, nodding her head. "He escaped three days ago."

"Three?! and we are barely finding out now?" Lauren is frustrated at this point. Dinah sighs and puts a hand on Lauren's shoulder. "You need to tell Ally, you guys need to stay with one of us for a while."

"He could be anywhere Lo." Camila adds.

"Dinah, she's been through so much, we barely started getting settled and I doubt he knows where we are...I'll figure it out but let me tell her."

"Tell me what?" Ally walks into the hallway where everyone was standing. They all look like deers in headlights. "Um that Normani and I want to move out here with you guys!" Dinah makes up a lie, trying to cover up the conversation they were just having.

Ally smiles, and hugs Camila and Dinah, "I think that be sweet, do you guys want some tea? I made a pot for Lauren because she might be getting sick." Dinah makes a face, "Actually it's late, I need to grab dinner before Mani burns the house down, I'll see you guys later."

The two girls walk quickly out of the house, and Ally is confused but shrugs her shoulders and begins to walk to the kitchen, "Laur, come on dinner's ready."

Lauren breathes deeply, and tries to relax. "Coming baby."

As they sit down, Honey walks in with Biggie and Tiny. "Mommy, Tiny ate yo shoes." Lauren groans, and Ally laughs. "Great...by the way Honey bun, Tiny is gonna start sleeping with both you and your siblings, okay?" Lauren tells her, and Honey nods. "Tell him that."

Lauren looks at the dog, and Tiny is already looking at Lauren with a face. "You were brought as a guard dog, you're gonna be a guard dog." Ally pets Tiny's head, "You are the best guard dog of all time," Biggie begins to whine, "So are you, my little munchkin."

Alissa had begin to put her baby girl, Maraya, in her crib, when she heard a noise coming from the hallway. (just a reminder, she lives in Lauren and Ally's old house because her apartment burnt down.)

"Hey? Is someone there?" Alissa checks on her sleeping child once more and walks into the hallway. The house is dark, and silent. Turning on the stair way lights, Alissa walks downstairs to the living room. Nothing was out of place, so she decided it was just her mind. She walks to her kitchen sink to wash her dishes.

As she's humming to herself, she hears a noise coming from the baby monitor. Turning around, she sees the noise monitor is low, and as she gets closer she can hear a faint noise, until at full volume the noise monitor echoes Maraya's screaming cry and Alissa runs upstair as fast as she could. She makes it to the door, but stops as she sees a man carrying Maraya. "Shhhh....don't want to wake the baby." He tells her.

"Please..put her down." Alissa pleads, and finally makes eye contact with the man holding her child. He holds Maraya closer to his chest "I'll put her down..but you must tell me something...where are the previous owners of this house?"

Alissa is confused and shakes her head, "I don't know who you're talking about..." She mutters.

The man smiles, and in an instant, he pulls out a sharp pocket knife and brings it to Maraya's face. "I'm not stupid love...I saw that Lauren saved your baby in the fire so tell me where they are and I won't hurt her." He begins to press the knife into Maraya's cheek and she begins to cry.

"NO! I'll...I'll tell you..." Alissa grabs a paper and pen from the drawer next to her and writes down the address, and gives it to him. "This is it, I swear, now please give me my daughter."

The man chuckles, taking the paper and putting it in his pocket. "I said I'd put her down," He puts Maraya back in her crib, then begins to walk towards Alissa. "I also said I wouldn't hurt her." With that being said, the intruder grabs Alissa's head and knocks it on the door, completely knocking her out. "I never said anything about you."
