My eyes went over to Peter, who was focused on copying the notes down from the board. I slowly, but sneakily, moved my desk over. I kept my attention on the board but leaned my head closer to Peter.

He still hadn't noticed, taking notes vigorously.

"Pete," I whispered, making him jump almost two feet in the air.

His eyes frantically went to me, taking a breath when he saw me. "Elena, you scared the crap out of me."

"Right, sorry." I hesitated. "So there's a party tonight.."

"I don't know," he began

"I want to hang out with you, Peter. We haven't hung out in a while."

"Okay, fine."

I smiled, turning away. I stopped for a second realizing what I would have to tell him. "I hope you know that it is Harry's party."

"Harry? Like Harry Osborn." Peter said, annoyance hidden in his voice.

"Listen, I know you're not the best with Harry, but we haven't done anything lately. Plus, when's the last time you went to a party?"

"That's not a fair question." He complained. A soft curl laid in the middle of his forehead.

"You can bring Ned if it makes you more comfortable as long as you promise not to leave me." my eyes shifting to the side then back to his big brown eyes.

"I would've come anyway because it's you. You're my-um, friend." His voice cracking at the word 'friend'.

For some reason, I felt a pang in my heart, but I chose to ignore it.  The bell rang which induced me to gather all my things, grabbing Peter's jacket to drag him along.

"W-what are you doing?" He muttered as I pulled him outside of the school.

"We're hanging out?" I furrowed my eyebrows. "I thought that's what was inferred."

"Oh-oh yeah!" Pete laughed. He crossed his arms over his chest.

"Uh-huh." I eyed him carefully. "Let's pick out your outfit." I walked ahead of him.

"What? Why?" Peter looked even more confused. "Why do I have to change my outfit for this party?"

"You don't. I just want to pick something out. I like what you're wearing with the puns and all- just yea." I continued on towards his apartment.

After taking the subway, and a few more streets of walking, we had finally arrived at his apartment building.

"Elena! It's so nice to see you again." Aunt May said once we talked in the door. She instantly took me into a hug, which I gratefully accepted. "Peter would not stop talking about you."
